SCOTT WILLIAMS admits Mensur Suljovic is “really f***ing hard to play” on the oche.
Suljovic, the world No55 Austrian, made headlines at Alexandra Palace after being accused of “cheating” by Joe Cullen over the time he was taking between throws.
‘Shaggy’ believes there is far more to it than simply playing at a slow pace.
Williams reckons that while television viewers might not immediately notice the finer details, fellow professionals certainly do.
He told the Jaackmaate podcast: “This is a tough one for me because I want to say a lot. Mensur is really f***ing hard to play.
“Not because of the fact he is slow. He can be slow, but he does little things and antics.
“The cameras pick it up. The thing is, as a darts player you will see it straight away.
“You know straight away if he is being an arse or not.
“Whereas the camera will pick him up walking around and going to his table, dabbing his fingers as he does.
“That’s his routine, that is cool.

“It’s everything else that he does that is ridiculous. How slow he was being when he celebrates.
“If you win a leg, you don’t need to celebrate the way he does, running off.
“Get out of here. I think that is silly. That is unsportsmanlike.
“I watched the game and I was like, this is ridiculous.”
Williams was asked whether there are any players he particularly enjoys beating or ones he simply cannot stand facing.
He added: “Yeah, there are a few. There are a couple of them. My first experience with one of them was just, what a horrible human being.
“Since then I have kind of changed my views a little bit. He has been quite nice.
“When I got the dartitis and the video was going around, he came over and, you know, ‘Everything okay?’
“There are a couple and they are all scattered around. There’s potentially a Dutch, a Belgian and an English.
“The Dutch and Belgians are hard work because their culture is very strict.
“It’s very plain-faced, very abrupt. So you kind of get used to that.
“But some people just go that little bit extra.”
