DANI Dyer has opened up about how her body confidence plummeted after becoming a mother.
Discussing the matter on the latest episode of Ellis Ranson’s Talk In Wardrobe podcast, Dani was asked how motherhood has impacted the way she feels about her body.
The TV star, 29, welcomed her first child in 2021 – a baby boy called Santiago, who she shares with ex-partner Sammy Kimmence.
Then two years later Dani gave birth to twins Summer and Star with now-husband Jarrod Bowen.
But Dani revealed how post-pregnancy she used to “torture” herself by trying to fit into her old clothes, and then feel terrible when they wouldn’t fit.
She said: “The first year after becoming a mum, I used to torture myself and try and put my old jeans on.
“In the end my mum was like “Dan just get rid of them”. It is hard going through that phase because none of your clothes previously fit you.
“It is trying to find yourself again. I think after you become a mum you drastically change and then you do have to find new looks.’
“I think with confidence we do have our ups and downs, don’t we?
“Especially as a woman, like we only really have a certain cycle of the month where we actually feel normal. We all struggle with confidence.”
The vulnerable confession comes after Dani heartbreakingly revealed last year that she had suffered a miscarriage before welcoming her son Santiago.
She opened up about the loss on Jamie Laing‘s In Great Company podcast, saying: “Just before Santi, I got pregnant, and then that didn’t work out. Because it didn’t work out, I wanted a baby, so I wasn’t careful.
“I was like I’m having a baby, and my mum and dad were fuming at the time.
“So I was nervous to tell my mum, and they were happy with me for the baby, because they knew what I went through.
“So they were happy for me for that, but they knew that relationship was never going to work.
“I’ve said sorry to them so many times for what I’ve put them through. And I get what they were saying now.
“Yeah, it was a miscarriage, but it was very early. When I got pregnant again, I had so many scans, I was there all the time.’
Dani noted how she remains “very civil” with Santi’s father, even though she felt “he was a massive player.”
Dani married West Ham United captain Jarrod in May 2025.
They tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony in Buckinghamshire at the £500-a-night Langley Hotel.
