That secured Los Verdolagas their eighth title – and completed a stunning hat-trick from 2023, 2024 and 2025.

And the latest success was made all the sweeter as it came against their arch-rivals.

Huge swathes of fans burst on to the field and its surrounds to engage in furious fighting.

Independiente Medellin fans in red and Atletico Nacional followers in green showered each other with chairs, bins, debris and other missiles.

And the utter carnage reached new heights when some fans started picking up metal fencing barriers and launching them at their rivals.

The incident comes a year after Atletico Nacional were unable to celebrate their 2024 triumph due to angry America de Cali fans’ reaction after their side’s defeat.

And last September, a Prima A match between Atletico Nacional and Atletico Junior was abandoned after a massive fight broke out in the stands.

It spilt over on to the pitch where some dangerous troublemakers were spotted wielding knives, sticks and machetes in horror scenes.

Earlier on in this year’s Copa Colombia run, Atletico Nacional had their bus attacked by Cucuta Deportivo ultras.

Windows were smashed and flying shards of glass cut ex-Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos’ foot.
