Cruz Beckham seemingly takes swipe at Brooklyn with song about ‘forgetting roots’ after online ‘attack’ accusation

CRUZ Beckham appeared to take aim at brother Brooklyn with an eyebrow raising social media post amid the family’s bitter feud.

The up-and-coming indie rocker, 20, is launching a music career 30 years after his mum changed the face of modern pop with the Spice Girls.

Cruz and his Heartbreakers band announced a quickly sold-out gig in London to showcase their original material, and the reception from fans left him stunned.

On top of a picture of eggs and toast, he wrote: “UK… absolutely no words thank you a million… looks like I’ll be adding more show?!?”

Soundtracking the post was the Spice Girls’ 1996 hit “Who do You Think You Are?”

It’s a curious choice given the lyrical content and the Beckham family feud backdrop that saw Brooklyn, 26, release a bombshell statement savaging his parents and brothers.

‘Extreme and alarming’ warning sign that sparked Beckhams’ concern for Brooklyn

Nicola Peltz’s ex’s sister hits out at ‘fame-hungry’ star in scathing swipe

The song’s lyrics read: “The race is on to get out of the bottom / The top is high so your roots are forgotten / Giving is good, as long you’re getting / What’s driving you is ambition I’m betting / Who do you think you are? / Who, some kind of superstar?”

Then again, maybe Cruz is feeling a bit of impostor syndrome and is genuinely surprised so many people are taking notice of his music as he seeks to carve out a music career off his own back. Only he knows.

While most of Brooklyn’s fury was directed at his parents in his statement, he did throw some shade Cruz and brother Romeo’s way, too, by claiming they encouraged them to bad mouth him online.

Brooklyn wrote: “Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

“Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.”

We exclusively revealed the ‘final straw’ that pushed Brooklyn to go full nuclear on David and Victoria and why he chose to target his mum.

A source told us: “Brooklyn simply couldn’t stand for stories to go around that Nicola was ‘addicted’ to fuelling the feud as nothing could be further from the truth.

“When he read that, he was really upset. She’s done nothing wrong as far as he’s concerned.”

Brooklyn blasted claims Nicola, 31, is stopping him having a relationship with his family.

He said: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

The Beckhams’ eldest son added: “The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.

“I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

“I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.”

Friends of the Beckhams told The Sun tonight how the pair have been left “floored” by their son’s accusations – but they are yet to publicly respond.

In his statement, Brooklyn also claimed that Victoria cancelled making Nicola’s wedding dress at the eleventh hour.

He claimed she was excited to wear one of Victoria’s designs and had to urgently find a new dress at the last minute.

He went on to say his mum called him “evil” for choosing to include his Nanny Sandra and Nicola’s Naunni on their table at the wedding because they didn’t have their husbands.

Brooklyn also claimed Posh Spice hijacked his wedding dance to dance “very inappropriately” on him and alleged she invited women from his past into his current life.

Since his version of events were unveiled on Instagram, social media has been ablaze with countless memes to depict Victoria allegedly hijacking the first dance.

The memes include previous performances of Victoria’s from her Spice Girls days and her solo career.

Dancing moments from The Simpsons and Amandaland have also featured with the comments aimed at mocking Victoria.

There are also videos of lapses from state shows with cruel comments about it being Victoria and Brooklyn.

Though the Beckhams have publicly declined to comment, Victoria is said to be devastated that her son’s words have sparked countless memes about the incident online.

A source said: “Victoria is really embarrassed now she’s being mocked online, it’s just devastating to her.”
