CORONATION Street have quietly recast a character for the FIFTH time.
Eagle-eyed fans may have picked up on the big change on the ITV soap opera this week when a brand new face stepped into the role.
Harry Platt is the son of Sarah Platt and despite only being 10 years old, has already seen FIVE faces play him.
Just this week, actor Joshua Leavy stepped into the role of Harry, making his first appearance on Monday.
The character of Harry hasn’t been seen since April after previous actor, Carter J Murphy, played him fleetingly for just eight episodes before quitting for good.
Joshua seems like the perfect pick for a new actor to play Harry with his already having a connection to his on-screen mum, Sarah.
A TV insider told The Sun: “He’s already been filming on set for a few months.
“He went to Tina O’Brien’s acting school so he already knows her.”
Joshua is also no stranger to the soap itself.
He made his first appearance in December 2021, playing the character of Finn Chambers, the son of Sarah’s friend, Lydia.
Somewhat of a soap veteran at an early age, he also appeared in Channel 4‘s Hollyoaks as well as having appeared in advertisements for Vodafone.
Joshua’s first scene as Harry saw him compliment his older half-sister Bethany Platt on her new daring dress.
The outfit featured a cut-out around the stomach leaving Bethany’s stoma bag exposed – an idea she had previously struggled with.
The Sun were the first to reveal the character would be recast earlier this year following previous actor Carter’s decision to quit.
The actor has landed a huge role in Matilda the Musical which forced his departure.
Carter could no longer fit in time on the cobbles with the tour so has had to step away from his role.
Young actor Carter succeeded twins Freddie and Isaac Rhodes as Harry from 2017 until 2024.
Prior to this, twine Pixie and Presley Sellers played the role for a year from 2016
At birth, the role was briefly played by Woody Illsley.
Harry was born in 2016 following Sarah’s fling with baddie Callum Logan (Sean Ward).
Callum was murdered by Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) before Harry’s birth.
The villain’s body was then concealed underneath No.8’s annex.
