A SOAP legend has signed up to appear in a BBC drama after starring roles on ITV.
The actress has enjoyed stints on both Coronation Street and Emmerdale but will now be making her way to Waterloo Road.
Denise Black, became best-known for playing Denise Osbourne in Weatherfield – the former partner of Ken Barlow.
But now, she has signed up to play a brand new character in Waterloo Road.
Her character’s name is Mo McManus and she finds herself caught up in a street showdown with police on the show.
Fans have been able to see Denise in action as Mo during the sixth episode of the latest series.
Her character is connected to Liam Scholes’ character Noel.
During her time on Coronation Street, Denise and Ken Barlow shared son Daniel Osbourne.
She originally appeared on the cobbles for six years between 1992 and 1997.
Denise went on to return for two further guest stints – one in 2007 and another ten years later in 2017.
In between her Corrie stints, she began playing the role of Joanie Dingle in Emmerdale.
Joining the soap in 2013, she arrived as the adoptive grandmother of Kyle Wyatt – the son of Amy Wyatt and Cain Dingle.
She eventually returned to the village with Kyle as he began to know his biological relatives with Joanie beginning an affair with Cain’s dad, Zak.
She was the reason for Zak and Lisa’s divorce with Joanie going on to marry Zak soon after breaking up his marriage.
Joanie later dropped dead when she passed away from a heart attack in 2017.
