COPS have launched an urgent manhunt for an on-the-run prisoner who has escaped jail.
The prisoner absconded from Hollesley Bay prison in Suffolk with police advising the public “not to approach” him.

Jamie Sherfield, 41, was reported missing on Friday, November 7, after being absent at a roll call, said Suffolk Police.
He is currently serving a four-year sentence for robbery and possession of a knife and an eight year recall.
The force described Sherfield as white, 6ft 2ins tall, of medium build, with grey hair, a full beard and blue eyes.
He also has a tattoo of ‘JIMBOY’ on his hand.
Sherfield was last seen wearing a blue Hugo Boss jumper, a Ralph Lauren purple polo shirt, blue jeans, black Nike trainers and a black SEKONDA sports watch.
Cops are now urgently appealing for help to trace the escaped lag and have warned the public not to approach him.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: “Members of the public are advised not to approach him and should call police on 999 immediately if they see him.
“Anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact Suffolk police on 101.”
Hollesley Bay is a Category D men’s prison and young offenders institution.
Sherfield’s disappearance marks the latest incident in a series of embarrassing prison blunders recently.
The Sun reported on Friday that cops are hunting a foreign national prisoner who absconded from prison nearly a month ago.
Ola Abimbola, serving a 21-year sentence, reportedly walked out of open prison HMP Ford on October 16 and officers have not seen him since.
It was also recently revealed that another inmate has allegedly gone on the run from HMP Wandsworth after he was temporarily freed to attend his brother’s wedding.
Cops have launched an urgent manhunt for Palestine Action protester Sean Middleborough, 32, after he failed to return to the Category B jail.
Algerian sex offender Brahim Kaddour-Cherif, 24, was arrested on Friday after a police search following his mistaken release from Wandsworth.
Algerian-born Cherif was finally caught after nine days on the run.
Another prisoner, Billy Smith, 35, who was also accidentally freed from the same jail on Monday, handed himself back in on Thursday.
He arrived at the prison accompanied by his partner who he hugged before walking to the entrance of the prison as he grinned at cameras.
These blunders have intensified pressure on Justice Secretary David Lammy following the high-profile mistaken release of Hadush Kebatu last month.
A two-day manhunt was sparked when sex offender Kebatu was accidentally released from HMP Chelmsford.
