COPS are searching the baby of a pregnant woman who was found dead in woodland days before her due date.
Rebecca Park, 22, was last seen leaving her mother’s house in Michigan on the evening of November 4.
Police confirmed on Saturday that Rebecca’s body was found in Manistee National Forest – without her baby.
Her official cause of death is still being investigated.
The Wexford County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police and other law enforcement agencies are now trying to find Rebecca’s baby.
They said information that can be made public at the time is “extremely limited”.
Sheriff Trent Taylor said: “We understand the public’s desire for details and their demand for justice for Rebecca and her baby.
“We ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to seek answers for this tragic situation.”
Rebecca was reported missing from Boon Township – about 100 miles north of Grand Rapids – earlier this month when she was 38 weeks pregnant.
Witnesses said she was last seen getting into the passenger side of a dark-colored vehicle outside her mother’s house.
Park was not heard from again and days later, her phone was found near her mother’s house.
Rebecca’s fiance, Richard Lee Falor, and Park’s 21-year-old sister, Kimberly Park, have been arrested and are in custody and awaiting arraignment.
Falor, a convicted 43-year-old sex offender, was arrested at around 7:30pm on Tuesday, while Kimberly was taken into custody just after 1am on Wednesday, records show.
Kimberly was charged with tampering with evidence in a criminal case, lying to a police officer during a violence crime investigation, and filing a false police report of a felony.
Falor was charged with two drug-related crimes.
Rebecca’s father told WWTV on Tuesday that his 22-year-old daughter’s remains were located during an ongoing search effort on a rural dirt road near where she was last seen.
