CONOR MCGREGOR has received a blunt message from new UFC superstar Paddy Pimblett.
Brit bruiser Pimblett catapulted himself to stardom last Sunday morning in the co-main event of UFC 314 in Miami.
The 30-year-old scored the biggest win of his career with a fourth-round TKO of fan favourite Michael Chandler to catapult himself into lightweight title contention.
The Liverpudlian’s win cost former two-division champion McGregor a whopping $500,000, which he bet on Chandler after revealing he was eyeing the winner of the bout.
And Pimblett was quick to criticise ‘The Notorious’ in the aftermath of his demolition of Chandler.
He said: “To be honest, I forgot all about him [Ilia Topuria], I forgot all about him otherwise I would’ve mentioned him in the cage.
“I literally forgot all about him, that’s how irrelevant he is. I’m ranked higher than him at Lightweight.
“I’d love to welcome him to 155lbs but apparently he’s sitting out and waiting for a title shot.
“What I’ve just done to Chandler is half the blueprint to beat him, he’s even more of a midget than he is.
“I’ll do the exact same thing to Ilia as I did to Chandler.
Inside McGregor’s Notorious lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an Octagon, Conor McGregor’s rise has been an enthralling watch.
“As I say, anyone can get it, any of the names that I mentioned.
“And even McGregor putting money on Chandler to win, lad.
“Like the Irish-scouse connection, he’s meant to back me and he never.
“If he wants it, he’ll get muftied as well.
“I didn’t think he’d go against me. thought he’d back me not back Chandler.
“But [it’s] one of them, innit?”
McGregor, surprisingly, has yet to comment on Pimblett’s destruction of Chandler, who is now riding a three-fight losing streak.
The Irishman hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier nearly four years ago.
McGregor hinted that retirement was on the cards last month by admitting he was content with his career.
But he performed a U-turn last week by making a public beeline for the winner of Chandler vs Pimblett.
