Eubank this week announced he is expecting twin boys, while Benn welcomed son Eli into the world in 2021.

But, ahead of Saturday’s rematch on DAZN PPV, Benn with welterweight title ambitions, ruled out a THIRD generation clash, stating: “This ends with us.

“It’s not gonna be another generation in 20 years. I’ve been fed up with this for the past three years.

“Do you know what it is? I just looked back to the kind of three years ago and I miss chasing the goal, which was being world champion and for me I’m competing at a weight that isn’t my weight.

“I’m glad that I can give this fight to the supporters, like genuinely, because big fights don’t happen for whatever reasons they don’t happen.

“But for me I feel it is heavy on me to get the world title, so I just can’t wait for this to be done and really drop back down and close this chapter on my career and move on.”

Eubank spent two nights in hospital due to severe dehydration after winning his epic 12-round war against Benn.

But a big-money rematch was already guaranteed in the contract both had signed earlier in the year.

And Benn has vowed to make it Eubank’s final payday in the boxing ring.

Benn, 29, said: “I think he’s done. And not because of me. I mean, I think I’ve took a lot out of him, the first fight.

“You gotta look at it like, it’s when you fight a welterweight – and I say welterweight because I can also drop my weight down very quickly – I’m a smaller guy and you got put in the hospital for three days.

“I know he won the fight, but if you look at the collective of punches that he threw versus how many I threw, I was back in the gym on Sunday. He was in hospital for three days.  So where does he go from here?

Benn’s dad Nigel was famously beaten by Eubank Sr in their 1990 classic before drawing in the rematch three years later.

There was no trilogy decider – leaving the family to pursue redemption for over three decades.

But Benn Jr is ready to make the same concession even if he levels the score against Eubank.

He said: “Victory, done. No trilogy. Because it’s like, you sit here and you go, yeah, it’s a mega-fight, we want to give the public the biggest fights possible and obviously it’s financially rewarding for us.

“But, you sit there and you go, how much money do you need in comparison to getting a world title and having an opportunity there?

“So that’s really just how I feel at this present moment. I’m really excited to get back down to my natural weight and win a world title. That cements my legacy for me, not for anybody else, just for me.”

Benn was 26 when he first signed to fight Eubank in October 2022.

But he was pulled out of the grudge match after failing two Voluntary Anti-Doping Association tests.

Benn was found to have had clomifene – known to boost testosterone levels – in his system before protesting his innocence.

The British Boxing Board of Control and UK Anti-Doping provisionally suspended Benn – who vowed to fight his case.

But he took his career to America for two wins up at 150lb before UKAD later dropped the case allowing Benn to fight in Britain once more.

Now three years on – all of which spent out of the welterweight division he vows to conquer – Benn said: “I’ve been here almost two years at a heavier weight, so it’s like, I ain’t getting younger, I’m 29.

“So for me to then have to drop weight down, it’s gonna take me a good – you won’t see me fight again until maybe summer next year just to get the weight down.

“I reckon I’ve got two fights at 147. I’m sparring light-heavyweights and having no issues at all.

I feel it is heavy on me to get the world title, so I just can’t wait for this to be done and really drop back down and close this chapter on my career and move on.

“So I get sparring is sparring but ultimately we competed with Eubank at 160. If we had said this four years ago, it was like, ‘No, he’s way too small, there’s no way.’

“And here I am competing at 160, so for me, yeah, I do feel stronger for this fight, but in the back of my head, I will still want to get back down.”

Benn said he considered suicide after the news of his failed drug test – struggling to mentally cope as his career and reputation was left in tatters.

But his personal fight came to an end in November 2024 when UKAD confirmed the case was closed.

UKAD were “unable to publicly disclose the decision” or release the evidence that exonerated Benn without the boxer’s permission.

Still, despite the lack of clarity over the result, Benn was free to fight on home soil again and returned with a vengeance against Eubank.

But after leaving all his rage in their initial grudge fight, a reformed Benn said just days before the rematch: “I feel very differently.

“I’m sure everyone, you’ve all documented the majority of my career, I’m a very emotional guy. Fighting, outside, I’m very emotional.

“It’s down to me to keep my emotions at bay, which I have done up to now. I’ve worked religiously on tactics in the gym. Basic s***.

“I’m not going in there swinging. Like, I’m glad you guys and the public enjoyed it, but I feel like I’ve done that now.

“I feel like I’ve done what I said I was gonna do on the tin and now it’s just that I get the win.”

How to get help

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
