A comedian has disgusted victims of the Liverpool parade crashed and had his gig axed after he posted ”I’d drive through crowds of people to get the f*** out of there as well’.
At least 65 people were injured after horror descended on Liverpool FC’s Premier League celebrations, when a car ploughed through a group of pedestrians.
A 53-year-old white British man from West Derby has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving offences and driving while unfit through drugs.
He is said to have tailgated an ambulance racing to a heart attack victim before striking fans at up to 30mph near the city’s waterfront, which had been closed to traffic.
Horrifying footage showed fans being catapulted into the air and some trapped under the wheels. Fire crews extracted four people, including a child, from under the vehicle.
Vile comic Andrew Lawrence took to social media to make the ‘horrific’ remark yesterday afternoon, before a police statement where it was revealed that the eleven victims who remained in hospital were stable and recovering.
The comments sparked fury, with his upcoming gig at a comedy club run by a crazy golf course in Essex being axed shortly after.
He posted: ‘To be fair, if I was in Liverpool, I’d drive through crowds of people to get the f*** out of there as well.’

Lawrence describes himself on his website as ‘one of the most highly regarded, in demand live stand-up comedians in the UK.’
He has repeatedly appeared on the BBC, with shows including ‘How Did We End Up Like This’, Ideal and Live At The Apollo.
The comic also sparked fury in 2021, with a string of comedy clubs cancelling his shows after he made racist ‘jokes’ on Twitter about England football stars following England’s heartbreaking penalty shoot-out defeat to Italy.
The comments came after a day where he had repeatedly criticised Merseyside Police for revealing that the suspect was a white British man – something they had been praised for as misinformation began to spread on social media.
Lawrence’s post sparked fury in Liverpool as they begin to recover from the terrifying smash.
Responding on X, Garston-born actor Barry Sloane said: ‘You absolute disgrace.’
Hillsborough Survivors Support Alliance CIC said: ‘A comedian really? You’re an embarrassment to the profession.’
Liverpool FC reporter for The Athletic James Pearce said: ‘Horrific. You’re a disgrace’
And X user HLTCO said: ”Comedian’ is doing some outrageously heavy lifting in that bio.’

Caddies in Southend announced that his upcoming show had been cancelled shortly after, after a number of people reportedly contacted the venue to complain.
They said: ‘The event organisers who had hired our Comedy Club for the Andrew Lawrence night, have cancelled the event.
‘We do not condone or support the comment that has been made online, and we send everyone impacted by the tragic events in Liverpool our support and prayers.’
Lawrence, who was runner up in 2003’s So You Think You’re Funny competition, responded claiming the venue had failed to show ‘courage’.
He posted: ‘This venue lost their courage after being bombarded with abuse and threats of violence from online trolls.
‘Understandable, but disappointing. I will reschedule for later in the year at a different venue Southend, sorry for the inconvenience, have a great day.’
His comments sparked further fury – with Colm Brady saying: ‘Disgusting. Violence was not used, read their email response. They do not condone your vile tweets.’
Wallasey-based horror writer Ramsey Campbell added: ‘Oh, I think they had the courage of their convictions.’

Jack Trotter , who escaped with injuries to his leg and back, feared his young son would become fatherless as the Ford Galaxy bore down on him
Before his post, Lawrence had already repeatedly mocked the police and news outlets on social media for the Liverpool crash after the suspect was described as a ‘white British man’.
Merseyside Police was criticised in the wake of the Southport murders last summer for not releasing information about the killer’s ethnicity and religion after false rumours were started online that he was a Muslim asylum seeker.
And they have been widely praised for making the comment early on as misinformation began to spread online.
One video of Lawrence’s ended with: ‘We would ask the public to bear with us as we find out if there are any other white British people involved in this, and if you do see a white man in a car please do report that to us immediately.
‘Watch out for white men, assalamualaikum, namaste, kumbaya.’
An estimated one million people flooded the city and lined the streets along the ten-mile trophy parade route to celebrate with the Liverpool team on Bank Holiday Monday.
The incident occurred just after 6pm on Water Street, a road off The Strand – the main thoroughfare in front of the Royal Liver Building – which the team bus had passed moments before.
Water Street was packed with supporters walking to catch trains, taxis and lifts home.

Lawrence was further condemned following England’s penalty shoot-out loss to Italy in the 2021 Euros
A source told the Mail that the incident was ‘more road rage, not terror’.
‘It seems the driver was panicked or frightened or both, but what happened next was terrible,’ they said.
Lawrence was further condemned following England’s penalty shoot-out loss to Italy in the 2021 Euros.
In one comment he said he was ‘sorry that black guys are bad at penalties’ after posting: ‘All I’m saying is, the white guys scored.’
And in reference to the anti-poverty campaigning of Marcus Rashford – one of those to miss a penalty last night – he said he’d: ‘Rather he’d (Rashford) practised his penalties and the kids had gone hungry.’
After a furious response on social media, Lawrence’s agents revealed they had cut ties with him and a raft of venues cancelled his gigs.
