Cillian Murphy’s lookalike son Aran, 17, lands role in major new HBO series alongside Sienna Miller as A-list nepo baby hopes to emulate his Oscar-winning father’s success

Cillian Murphy‘s son Aran has landed a role in an A-list packed series, as he follows in his Oscar winning dad’s footsteps.

Aran, 17, has joined the cast of WAR, the upcoming HBO and Sky co-production which also features Dominic West and Sienna Miller

The teenager’s Dublin talent agency Lisa Richards Agency announced the major news on Instagram, sharing a photo of the rising star in which he looks remarkably like his famous father.

WAR isn’t Aran’s first acting role. He has recently completed work on his feature film debut in Taika Waititi‘s Klara And The Sun.

It was announced last year that he had landed a role in the Thor director’s new movie which is an adaptation of the New York Times bestseller by Kazuo Ishiguro.

He joins Jenna Ortega, Steve Buscemi and Amy Adams in the all-star movie which is set to be released in 2026.

Aran also has friends in high places, with Taylor Swift recently recalling meeting the actor and his older brother during awards season.

Cillian, 49, and his family met the pop star at an Oscars party and on a recent episode of The Graham Norton Show, Taylor sought out Cillian’s son in the studio audience.

Revealing their surprise meeting, Cillian said: ‘We were at a party and I had the whole gang and my family, and my kids. I don’t think my kids were legally allowed to be there.’

Taylor replied: ‘I don’t know but they were delightful. Your sons are the future of our world. They were such great conversationalists they were interesting and interested, that’s a real accomplishment.’

‘They’re here aren’t they?’ actress Greta Lee asked, as Cillian said: ‘One of them is here yeah, Aran. Wait where is he? Maybe he’s not here.’

But Aran was indeed in the audience and recognising him, in part due to his striking resemblance to his father, Taylor grinned as she pointed out to the audience and said: ‘Oh he’s right there, you can tell!’

Host Graham Norton laughed, as he added: ‘Oh my god he is so Cillian Murphy style.

‘If this was a game show we’ve all just won a prize.’

Cillian and his family now live in Dublin after he reportedly splashed out close to £1.7million on a Victorian townhouse.

The four-storey home, originally built in 1863, is located in south Co. Dublin, and has six double bedrooms as well as four receptions rooms.

While they are now based in Ireland, his sons were born in London and stayed there until 2015, with the actor joking they moved because his sons were developing ‘very posh English accents’.

‘We were in London for 14 years, both our kids were born there. We only came back to Dublin in 2015,’ he told the Armchair Expert podcast.

‘It’s kind of an Irish story, you know, to move away, do your thing and then come home. That seems to be a common narrative for Irish people.

‘We wanted the kids to be Irish, and they were sort of at that age where they were preteens and they had very posh English accents and I wasn’t appreciating that too much. Our parents are a certain age and it was just a nice time to come home.’

Whilst Aran is pursuing acting his older brother Malachy, 18, has shown an interest in music, a passion that his father has encouraged.
