This was enough to beat the power generated by Alexander Isak‘s 109kmh rocket against Liverpool, which was named the most powerful strike of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

It’s just another accolade for the penalty that won England their second consecutive Women’s Euros titles.

Sarina Wiegman‘s Lionesses overcame a one goal deficit to force the game to penalties.

Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton shone with her two penalty saves, before Kelly thumped her penalty high into the net for the win.

The conviction in the strike is made all the more impressive by the fact that Kelly had initially missed a penalty a few days earlier against Italy, having to tuck it away on the rebound.

She clearly learned her lesson about giving the the keeper a chance from the spot.

The trophy, won in Basel’s St. Jakob-Park, marks the first international major tournament win for an England team, male or female, on foreign soil.

This most powerful goal accolade is probably one that Swedish star Alexander Isak can live without, as he sets his sights on a more concrete target.

The striker made it clear he wished to leave Newcastle last week.

He had been heavily linked to Liverpool, despite the Magpies knocking back an initial approach and insisting that he is not for sale.

But with their imminent sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, curiosity is growing as to whether the Reds could try Newcastle’s resolve again.
