CHELSEA have released a blunt statement announcing Raheem Sterling’s departure from the club.
The winger reached a mutual agreement to leave Stamford Bridge after being exiled for months.

Sterling was first left out by Enzo Maresca in the summer of 2024, and became part of Chelsea‘s bomb squad.
He spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Arsenal before returning last summer to sit in the reserves.
The 31-year-old is now set for a new chapter as Chelsea confirmed his exit in a 60-word statement.
It read: “Raheem Sterling has today departed Chelsea Football Club by mutual agreement, bringing to an end three-and-a-half seasons as our player, having signed in the summer of 2022 when he was transferred from Manchester City.
“We thank Raheem for the contribution he made while a Chelsea player and wish him well for the next stage in his career.”
Sterling has been linked to clubs in the Prem and abroad, with Napoli a potential destination.
He responded to his release with a short statement of his own, writing: “All eyes on the future. God is great.”
Sterling last played for Chelsea in May 2024 after being frozen out by Maresca, who stated Sterling was “not my type of winger”.

The former Blues boss said: “Raheem is a fantastic person, a fantastic guy, he trains very well. The only thing is; every manager has different ideas.
“I said in terms of the kind of winger, he is not one I like but it doesn’t mean nothing if he is not a good player. I think the history and numbers speak for Raheem.
“My advice – he knows exactly what he has to do. He doesn’t need my advice.”
