LIAM ROSENIOR appeared to say goodbye to Strasbourg in an emotional statement as he edges closer to taking over at Chelsea.
The former Brighton and Hull defender is the leading candidate to replace Enzo Maresca – who left Stamford Bridge on New Year’s Day.

Rosenior – who has managed French side Strasbourg since July – played down the links to Chelsea before his side’s trip to Nice.
But following the 1-1 draw, the 41-year-old Englishman looked to be saying a farewell to the Ligue 1 club.
Rosenior said: “It’s a very beautiful city, with very beautiful people, a great club. I loved everything. The players were incredible.
“I really want the best for this club. I don’t know if this is my last match. In life, you never know.”
Strasbourg – the sister club in Chelsea’s BlueCo ownership – are currently seventh in the league.
Maresca – who only succeeded Mauricio Pochettino in the summer of 2024 – walked out with the Blues fifth in the table without a win in three.
Rosenior acknowledged the talks with Chelsea before again hinting at a goodbye to Strasbourg.
He said: “There’s nothing concrete in these discussions. They’re just discussions. What will be, will be.
