CHELSEA are closing in on signing Xavi Simons – but one star could move the other way, according to reports.
The Blues have had a busy summer and now have more funds to spend following the sale of Noni Madueke.
Madueke joined Arsenal for £52million and Simons could arrive at Stamford Bridge for a similar fee.
And Carney Chukwuemeka moved the other way after RB Leipzig opened talks over a transfer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The deal is progressing alongside Chelsea‘s move for Simons.
Leipzig are understood to be open to selling the Netherlands international.
And it is believed Chelsea are close to agreeing personal terms with Simons.
The West Londoners are facing competition from Arsenal who are also targeting the playmaker.
Chelsea are also in talks to sell Renato Veiga to Atletico Madrid, though are holding out for £35m.
And they could replace him with Jorrel Hato from Ajax.

The Blues are willing to pay around £40m for the versatile Dutchman, but that is some way off the £60m asking price.
Hato’s ability to play both centre-back or left-back makes him appealing to Chelsea, who are flush with cash after winning the Club World Cup.
