DARTS sensation Charlie Manby was watched by his girlfriend this evening in his World Darts Championship loss to Gian van Veen.
Manby, 20, was in action against Gian van Veen at the World Darts Championship vying for a spot in the quarter finals and £100,000 in prize money.
He had defied the odds to make it this far, including big wins over Cameron Menzies in the opening round and Ricky Evans yesterday.
However, Manby revealed he was left fuming that girlfriend, Tia, was unable to attend and watch him in action at Alexandra Palace.
He took aim at his partner’s boss for being “out of order” in not allowing her to attend his clash against Evans.
Manby said: “My girlfriend’s not here today.
“That was heartbreaking enough.
“She was absolutely gutted.
“I think it was a bit out of order to be honest.
“People don’t understand things might not work out the same if she’s here or not.”

However, Tia was seen in the guests pen at Ally Pally to watch Manby against Youth Champion Van Veen.
Unfortunately for Champagne his darts fairytale came to an end as he was beaten 4-1 by his Dutch rival.
Manby scored an average of 94.74 and hit 47.1 per cent of his checkouts, but was unable to overcome Van Veen’s 48.1 per cent and 98.48 average.
A statement to the Daily Mail from Tia’s employer, TrustFord in Huddersfield where she works in admin, confirmed that while Tia had already used all her annual leave she was being given special extra annual leave to attend Manby’s darts match.
While he was defeated today, Manby will still take solace in knowing he has earned £60,000 for his exploits at the World Darts Championships.
