THE Championship is set for a major makeover next season – with the play-off places being expanded to SIX spots.
EFL clubs have approved to tear up the current format in a shock bid to make showdowns in the closing stages of the campaign more competitive.

It means that there will be seven clashes between clubs who have missed out on automatic promotion as they battle for a last-ditch route into the Premier League.
