RUTH Codd has taken to the red carpet for the first time since having her second leg amputated.
The actress, who starred on last year’s Celebrity Traitors, had her right leg amputated six years ago and opted to undergo the same procedure on her left leg last November after years of chronic pain.
On Friday, Ruth, 29, looked glamorous as she attended a celeb-filled performance of West End show Hadestown.
Heading out for the night in the capital, Ruth donned a feathered green mini dress and pulled her hair into a high bun.
Bringing her mum, Rita, along for the West End gala evening, Ruth joined celebs such as Vanessa Feltz, Strictly’s Nikita Kuzmin and fellow The Traitors alum Stephen Libbey.
It comes five months after Ruth told fans she had undergone an amputation for her second leg.
The star, who appeared in Netflix hit The Midnight Club, injured her foot while playing football at the age of 15, leaving her with chronic pain and mobility issues.
The incident had left her with severe nerve damage, which contributed to her discomfort.
At the age of 23, she decided to have her right leg amputated below the knee.
Opening up about undergoing the procedure for a second time, Ruth said last year that it is the same situation – with the pain hindering her ability to live life to the fullest.
She said in November: “It’s gone past the point where, they can kind of do anything about it.
“I’ve already had all of my toes amputated. So, I have no toes, my foot looks like a little hamburger.
“With the second one, it’s just the same situation, quality of life. It’s never going to get any better from this point.”
She continued: “The amount of health problems I’ve had the last year, it stopped me from doing anything.
“I feel like it hindered me and made my ability to do my job more difficult.”
“I’ve been through it once before. So, I think with two prosthetics, I’ll be pretty unstoppable.”
