ALAN Carr made the ultimate error last night as he almost gave himself away on Celebrity Traitors.
The comedian has been playing a blinding game when it comes to fooling the other celebrities into thinking he’s a Faithful.
But on last night’s show, the TV presenter appeared to drop himself in it when he forgot he had a shield.
On yesterday’s episode, Alan became one of the four celebrities to win a shield, which protects them from being murdered.
Lucy Beaumont and Joe Marler became immediately suspicious of Alan – questioning how on earth he’d forget that he had an important shield.
Alan tried to shift the blame to Joe at last night’s roundtable, telling him: “Joe’s demeanour sometimes, I don’t know whether you’re serious, I don’t know whether you’re joking, it’s like talking to a boulder, I can’t break you.”

A flustered Alan continued: “You put the gravestone on Stephen’s square. I am really picky, I feel like my cock-up with Mark and also the Traitors murder people who stick their head above the parapet.”
Kate Garraway pointed out: “But they didn’t murder you.”
This prompted Joe to state: “They also won’t murder you tonight.”
But a confused Alan responded: “What?”
Joe bluntly replied: “You’ve got a shield.”
Alan then squealed: “I’ve got a shield,” as Kate joined in and said: “You’ve got a shield.”
But Alan’s slip-up didn’t go unnoticed by his fellow co-stars who have begun to speculate that Alan is manipulating the group.
After the roundtable, Joe, Lucy, Nick Mohammed and Cat Burns picked apart Alan’s behaviour after his comment about the Shield.
Joe said: “But Alan forgot he had a Shield at the Round Table.”
Lucy said: “Because it’s not important to him. You don’t forget you’ve got a Shield.”
Joe continued: “You don’t forget you’ve got a Shield. I wouldn’t be forgetting that.”
“That’s so true, would you be forgetting that you’ve got a Shield? I was kissing it,” Lucy said.
Lucy stressed: “You would forget, if you get a Shield and think it’s not important anyway. That’s a really big behaviour thing.”
Last night, fans finally discovered who was banished after Wednesday night’s agonising cliffhanger.
In a show-first, the roundtable ended with a tiebreak as the stars failed to agree on who to vote out.
Host Claudia Winkleman told Faithfuls Mark Bonnar and David Olusoga that their place in the competition would be left up to fate.
She presented them with two Chests of Chance with only one of them containing a life-saving shield.
Viewers were on tenterhooks to see who would lose the game of chance – before David won, forcing Mark to say his goodbyes.
Claudia rounded on the remaining celebrities and demanded they shaped up.
She implored them: “Faithfuls, you are breaking my heart, you are not getting it.
“What are you not seeing? You have to open your eyes, please, because there is no let up.
“Almost half of you have gone.
“Traitors, aren’t you having a brilliant game? Congratulations.”
But her advice fell of deaf ears as later at the Round Table, yet another Faithful was wrongly murdered.
This time Stephen Fry was sent home after days of mounting suspicion around him being the Traitors following the ‘Big Dog’ Theory.
At the end of the show, Stephen revealed himself to be a Faithful, meaning a total of ten have been banished so far.
