CELEBRITY Masterchef has recruited a reality TV veteran for their latest series.
As the BBC show starts building its line-up, they have signed on a footballer-turned-reality star who has become famed for shows including Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and Ex On The Beach.
Ashley Cain made his name as a tattooed and muscled bad boy on screen, but after the devastating loss of his eight-month-old baby daughter Azaylia in 2021, he’s since dedicated his life to raising money for a foundation made in her name.
He’s hoping that Celebrity Masterchef will be a way to show off the family man he’s now become.
A source told The Sun: “Ashley is keen to show fans another side of him. This is an unexpected move for him as his past shows have either been wild like Ex on The Beach, or really hardcore like Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
“Now he can show what he is capable of in the kitchen and introduce himself to a new audience.”

A Celebrity Masterchef spokesperson said: “We do not comment on line-up speculation and the cast will be announced in due course.”
Azaylia, whom Ashley had with ex Safiyya Vorajee, died from a rare form of leukaemia, having been diagnosed just two months after she was born.
He’s since taken on record-breaking feats of endurance including kayaking 1,000 miles in the Yukon, Canada, in just 10 days in order to raise money to support families whose children are battling the disease.
The news of his involvement in Celebrity Masterchef comes after it was reported he was in the running to appear in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line-up.
He will be joining RuPaul’s Drag Race star Ginger Johnson, Love Island beauty Uma Jammeh and Blue singer Antony Costa.
Coronation Street’s Katie McGlynn, Celebrity Big Brother’s Chris Hughes and Michelle Heaton have also been included in the line-up.
The series will mark the debut of Grace Dent as the new host alongside John Torode
She is taking over from Gregg Wallace, who was removed from the series later year.
The new series of Celebrity Masterchef is expected to air in the coming months.
