CELEBRITY Traitors fans have only just realised Jonathan Ross’ real age – and they can’t get over it.
The chat show anchor has been at the heart of the action on the BBC series – having been picked by host Claudia Winkleman as a Traitor then battling for his survival at the Round Table.
While Jonathan has been branded a “backstabber” by co-star Ruth Codd – who has since been murdered on the BBC One show – fans say they have “worked out” the way his downfall will play out.
Yet despite navigating the deceptive, meddling path of a Traitor with aplomb, alongside Alan Carr and Cat Burns, fans have been just as distracted by the broadcaster’s look.
He has showcased a variety of eye-catching outfits, including a leopard-print cardigan and a tartan cloak in tribute to host Claudia but it’s his fresh-faced look and actual age that’s left many taken aback.
Jonathan is 64 – with his age displayed on the Traitors screen when he does a piece to camera – which many viewers did not seem to expect.
One took to Reddit to write: “He still looks belting for a man in his 60’s.”
A second put: “Unrelated but he looks incredible for his age.”
A third noted: “But he’s only three years younger than Stephen.”
Over on X, fans had the same thoughts.
One posted: “Jonathan Ross look real good for 64.”
Another mused: “We definitely don’t age like we used to because what do you mean Jonathan Ross is 64?”
Yet the star’s time on the show could be coming to en end, after fans speculated his fellow Traitors will soon turn on him.
Meanwhile, his pal Vanessa Feltz exclusively told us he has a “secret weapon” to win.
JONATHAN’S CONFESSION
After his role as a Traitor was released on the first day of the series, the star has now confessed he “hated” doing the show.
Claudia Winkleman’s career so far
Holiday (1992–1996): Claudia started her TV career as a travel show presenter, delivering segments from exotic locations.
Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two (2004–2010): Although she worked on a few shows between Holiday and Strictly, Claudia really came into her own as a presenter on this spin-off, where she could be seen offering behind-the-scenes gossip and interviewing contestants. She hosted It Takes Two from its inception until Zoe Ball took over from her in 2011.
Strictly Come Dancing (2014–present): After Sir Bruce Forsyth left the BBC show due to health concerns, Claudia joined Tess Daly as a co-host of the main show. This is one of the jobs Claudia is best known for.
Film 2010 (2010–2016): Claudia succeeded Jonathan Ross as the host of the BBC’s flagship film review show in 2010. She was praised by The Guardian for being a “passionate and engaging advocate of cinema” in this role.
The Great British Sewing Bee (2013–2016): Claudia brought her wit to the crafting competition for three years.
The Traitors (2022-present): Claudia’s dark hair and resting mysterious face have become synonymous with this hit reality show. Despite her attempts to leave after the first series in case future seasons flopped, BBC bosses were determined to keep her on, so it seems unlikely she’ll stop heading up the show anytime soon.
He told how the deception had ben a constant niggle – and how he had put his famous mates off from signing up for the second series.
He told how he was still reeling from having to be a Traitor on the BBC One contest as it meant lying to his showbiz buddies.
He said: “I know they’re already planning a second celebrity version.
“I know because I’ve had two celebrity friends of mine call me and say ‘I’ve been approached — is it good to do, is it bad to do?’ So I’m giving them the benefit of my experience, which was I didn’t enjoy it.”
Jonathan filmed the show five months ago at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.
he discussed his experience on podcast Reel Talk — including why he did not enjoy it.
Jonathan said: “I’m a Traitor, that’s why. I found the lying really wearing, it left me feeling increasingly uncomfortable.
“We were lying all the time, because you’re sharing a car in with people in the morning, and even though we’re not supposed to be talking about the game but obviously some people do, so you’re lying then.”
He added: “You’re on the defence the whole time and you have to look people in the eye and lie.”
