In 2022, the brutal conditions of Celebrity SAS filmed in Thailand proved too much, as six stars were forced to bow out.

The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran, ex footballer Jermaine Pennant and Paralympic cyclist Jon-Allan Butterworth all passed out during a marching test.

The trio were forced to walk in the heat by the SAS team — led by former US Navy Recon Marine Rudy Reyes whilst carrying heavy bags.

All three, who fell at different times, were then forced to leave the show after doctors ruled they could not carry on.

Love Island’s Montana Brown was left in tears after dislocating a kneecap and rugby player Gareth Thomas feared he had seriously hurt himself after pulling a hamstring muscle.

After being assessed by medical staff they were both discharged from the show.

Not only this former Towie star James Argent was medically discharged after he contracted trench foot and jungle rot.

The shock withdrawals saw questions asked about the difficulty of the tasks and the conditions contestants have to endure throughout the selection process.

Things went downhill for Former England Rugby player Chris Robshaw when he was faced with a gruelling boxing match against Love Island’s Ovie Soko last year.

The fight between the duo was stopped after Chris claimed that his shoulder was dislocated.

After the incident, he was then rushed to see the show’s expert medical team.

Chris was then examined by seasoned expedition leader Dr Raj Joshi who asked him to tightly squeeze his fingers in the examination.

He then informed the star: “Okay. So your shoulder is unstable.

“This could pop at any time. So for that reason, I’m gonna have to medically withdraw you from the course.”

The Rugby player was left saddened by the outcome, reflecting on his time on the show, he said: “As a sports person. You gradually come to terms with your body can’t do it.”

Traitors star Harry Clark was forced to leave the show after he was caught in his own lies.

With the episode focusing on trust, Harry was chosen as one of two the least trustworthy contestants by his co-stars.

It meant he had to head up one of two teams for the next challenge, and as the staff observed his actions during the mission, they quickly realised he was cutting corners and not pulling his weight.

Nearing the end of the episode Harry was taken out to the courtyard with a black hood over his head, while the rest of the celebrities lined up in front of him.

Once the hood was off, the staff demanded Harry told his colleagues what was going on.

Harry said he had “cut corners” and hadn’t done the full 20 burpees like the others earlier in the day.

But he was told firmly: “No, you lied, you cut corners, I asked you three times about honesty and integrity, and what did you do?”

Harry replied: “I lied, staff.”

As his stunned co-stars watched on, Harry was told to hand in his arm band to the DS and leave the compound for good.

Boxer Conor Benn was left in tears when he was forced to withdraw from this years series.

The professional boxer suffered a nasty shoulder injury as the gruelling endurance course continued but it proved all too much for the star.

Following a test where he dealt with a drill that recreated the effect of a recovery mission amid hazardous gas, he admitted to fellow recruit Adam Collard that he “would rather f**k up his shoulder than quit the show”.

Being brought into the DS’s for an interrogation, the team expressed their concern about his injury effecting him long-term, prompting him to admit he has a ‘fear in leaving’.

Unfortunately, his worst fear came true, and after being checked by the medical team, he was instructed that he would no longer be able to participate as he’d injured his rotator cuff.

The DS staff announced he would be medically withdrawn from the course – despite his protests and him wanting to carry on.

“It’s a medical withdrawal, you have no control over this. You had a great journey,” Mark Billingham told the heartbroken recruit.

“What if it’s fine?” Conor protested.

“It aint’ fine. It ain’t worth the f***ing damage mate,” he told him.

Towie favourite Pete Wicks was one of 14 famous faces taking part in last year’s series but was forced to quit after battling painful memories of his troubled mum.

The reality star hasn’t had the best of luck on the show, previously he was forced to quit after disaster struck when he jumped from a helicopter.

The reality star found himself knocked unconscious and face down in the water, and was left with broken ribs.

This time around the star unravelled after being asked to write an emotional letter to his mother, who he saved from a suicide attempt when he was 12.

Pete told the instructors: “I’ve lost the fight, I’ve got nothing left, my head is not in it,” he then proceeded to leave the process.

Speaking to The Sun at the time, he said: “I decided that night that I was in too deep.

“I hadn’t prepared for the reading out of the letters.

“I said things that I think I shouldn’t have said because I wasn’t saying it to the right person.

“I thought, ‘I need to go and say what I’ve said in this letter to my mum’.”

Last year three stars shocked fans when they departed from the process during the penultimate episode.

Towie star Bobby Norris was forced to call it quits after a doctor recommended his exit following a brutal wrestling match.

He took on towering basketball player and TV star Ovie, who won the fight and ripped Bobby’s shirt.

Following swiftly Ovie and presenter Cherry Healey both made shock exits that had fans stunned.

Cherry was the first to bow out, she told instructor Jason Fox: “It’s been life-changing, but I know when the line is and that’s fine. I thought about this long and hard.”

As for Ovie, he quit whilst “on the run” in a challenge that split the recruits into two teams.

The groups’ aim was to find their way to safety in the middle of the night.

In the meantime, they were being pursued by a hunter force made up of ex-military members.

Speaking to reality star Georgia Harrison, Ovie said: “I’m done… I’m going to hand my armband in.”
