Carole Middleton channeled Molly Mae at Royal Ascot – so who do YOU think has mastered the butter yellow look?

Carole Middleton channelled her inner Molly-Mae Hague as she stepped out in a £325 lace dress at Royal Ascot yesterday.

The mother of the Princess of Wales, who was also expected to appear at the racecourse on Wednesday but she pulled out at the last minute, looked effortlessly radiant in the vibrant ME+EM gown.

The striking yellow two-tone lace dress combined opaque and sheer textures, crafted from lace with a peach sorbet base and vibrant yellow cord-embroidered detailing.

The 70-year-old was the picture of elegance as she paired the gown with a matching wide-brim hat, minimal jewellery, and a blush-coloured Emmy London clutch.

Butter yellow has undeniably taken centre stage as this season’s standout shade, with experts at Google revealing the search term ‘butter yellow’ has risen 82 percent since the start of 2025.

Yellow lace dresses are especially on trend right now, as former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague recently wore a similar style by House of CB to a wedding in Cannes, promptly sending the product flying off the shelves.

The £199 gown was part of the brand’s ‘Honey Harvest’ Collection, and features delicate detail, as well as a romantic, floral pattern.

Molly-Mae, 26, donned the figure-flattering dress in a slew of Instagram snaps from her friends nuptials.

The influencer completed the look with slicked‑back hair, bold gold earrings, and a tonal Chanel bag.

While Carole oozed elegance and understated glamour in this years colour trend, Molly-Mae went for a very different approach.

The Love Island star opted for a plunging neckline and fitted silhouette for a sexier take on the fashion trend.

It’s safe to say both women, despite their 44-year age gap, pulled off the stunning ensembles and added their own unique flair.

Carol delivered timeless elegance fit for the prestigious Royal Ascot, while Molly-Mae oozed glamour for her friends trendy wedding.
