POLICE are investigating after a car collided with a number of pedestrians, leaving four injured.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene in De Montfort Street, Leicester, shortly after 12.30am today, following reports of a car hitting pedestrians.
Four people – two men and two women – were injured in the late night collision and were all quickly rushed to hospital after emergency crews arrived, police confirmed.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the collision.
He remains in police custody where he is being questioned by detectives.
Three of the victims were left with “serious” injuries, following the collision.
Leicestershire Police added that there had also been a report of a fight at the same location earlier on in the night.
In a statement today, cops explained that the suspect, as well as the four victims, had all been understood to be attending a private event nearby before the shocking collision.
