BURGER King has revealed a brand-new menu item for Brits looking to elevate their evening meals.
The company said it took inspiration for the new burger from the beloved and iconic Sunday roast.
The Wagyu Wellington is the latest addition to Burger King’s menu – inspired by the Beef Wellington.
The Beef Wellington has become a luxury version of a traditional roast beef, often served as a “Wellington Sunday” at particular restaurants.
However, the high-end alternative can leave some people with lighter pockets, as it uses an expensive cut of beef.
Luckily Burger King has come up with its own Sunday roast inspired burger that will give you the flavour you want at a cheaper price.
While wagyu is renowned for its Japanese heritage, The Wagyu Wellington is distinctly British from the beef it uses.
It is a crossing of wagyu cattle with British dairy cows, sourced from grass and forage-based herds across 700 UK farms.
The new gourmet burger features deliciously seasoned, 100% British Wagyu beef, flame-grilled and paired with a rich, creamy porcini mushroom sauce.
It is topped with smoky bacon and finished with peppery rocket, caramelised onions and crispy onions.
Finished with golden brioche buns, the burger is set to give foodies a new way of enjoying the flavours of a Beef Wellington.
Alongside the food chain’s latest release, it is also bringing back The Wagyu, which was released last year on its menu.
The return of The Wagyu also comes with new sides like roast potatoes and truffle loaded fries.
Diners can get their hands on the new Gourmet Kings collection for a limited time from March 24.
It is available to get both in-store and across all delivery platforms.
For foodies on a budget, Just Eat is offering £7 off when you spend £20 or more at the fast-food chain.
