THAI pageant boss Nawat Itsaragrisil has filed a criminal complaint against Miss Universe 2025 after a viral confrontation.
The saga started when the Miss Grand International (MGI) president called out Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, for “refusing” to take part in a photo shoot.
A heated confrontation took place at the live-streamed event, when Itsaragrisil singled out Bosch, 25, for missing a sponsor shoot earlier that day.
The pageant boss asked the beauty queen to “explain herself” in front of the cameras on November 4.
Footage shows him saying: “Mexico, where are you?”
“I heard you’re not going to support everything about Thailand. Is that true?”
He also accused Bosch of ignoring instructions to post on social media about the pageant.
The 25-year-old hit back, saying “I have a voice”, and accused Itsaragrisil of “not respecting me as a woman.”
A dramatic walk out followed, as more than a dozen other participants left the event in solidarity with Miss Mexico, ignoring Itsaragrisil’s demands for them to “sit down”.
Despite the dramatic scenes, Bosch went on to win the pageant, and was crowned Miss Universe 2025.
Now the pageant boss has made a criminal complaint against Bosch.
After the chaos of the confrontation and the walk-out, Miss Universe told media that Itsaragrisil had called her “dumb”.
She said the argument had made her feel humiliated and scared.
But the pageant boss said that Basch misheard him, insisting that he used the word “damage” instead.
The statement announcing Itsaragrisil’s defamation claim against the model accuses her of making “false accusations” and continuing to “misrepresent the incident”.
An MGI statement said: “Miss Mexico wrongly claimed that Mr. Nawat called her ‘dumbhead,’ when he actually said ‘damage.’ Video evidence is available.”
The statement alleged: “Even after she later became aware of the facts, she did not apologize to Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil”.
The criminal complaint was filed on November 12.
In Thailand, defamation cases can land people in prison for up to two years.
Other pageant contestants defended Bosch at the time.
Danish beauty queen Victoria Theilvig, a former Miss Universe winner herself, told cameras “this is about women’s rights” after storming out.
She said: “To trash another girl – it’s beyond disrespectful.”
Before filing the suit, Itsaragrisil had given a tearful apology.
He said: “This issue has dragged me down to this point.”
“I understand and I apologize… I am human. I didn’t want to do anything like that.”
