A lot has happened since I started this post this afternoon, when a link was first floated to local stations between the horrible Brown killings and the murder of the MIT engineering professor.





The post starts where I left off this afternoon.

This has been such a bizarro, tragic-comic clown show, that I have hesitated to even post on it because not only was there wasn’t a single positive thing to be said about any of the authorities in that pitiful town and university…

…but there also wasn’t anything to say.

Nothing.

No news, no leads. Just a snarling gay mayor put out by questions from his own constituents and a clueless university president who makes threepointoneMILLIONdollars a year for having no idea what time of day it is.

President Christina Paxson P’19 P’MD’20 was paid over $3.1 million in 2023, according to nonprofit tax filings for fiscal year 2024 released by the IRS and reviewed by The Herald. This marks a roughly 74% increase from her total compensation of $1.8 million in 2022. 

In 2023, Paxson received the highest total compensation that she had received thus far during her tenure as University president, beating her previous compensation high of $2 million in 2021 by 55%.

And then suddenly, there’s a link between the murders at Brown and the murder of a Portuguese engineering professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, about a 90-minute drive north from the Brown campus.

Authorities near Boston say they have no suspect in custody in the death of an MIT professor shot at his home.

Nuno F.G. Loureiro, 47, died at a local hospital on Tuesday morning after the Monday night shooting in Brookline, the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Loureiro was the director of MIT’s Plasma Science and Fusion Center and a professor in both the Nuclear Science and Engineering and Physics departments, the school said. MIT said it was offering support and other services to his students, colleagues and others in the community.





It seemed as if the questions in people’s minds, which at the time couldn’t be real, were suddenly the theory of the crime.

Police are investigating possible ties between Saturday’s shooting at Brown University and Monday’s slaying of a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Target 12 investigators have learned.

Senior law enforcement officials tell Target 12 that federal, state and local authorities are now examining a potential connection between the two crimes. Multiple people familiar with the investigation said they have discovered evidence showing the two may be linked.

I left off writing to fix dinner and see what shook out in the meantime. The primetime Fox channels were covering the Brown-MIT connection, so I thought, well, that’s good to go as far as a post.

Then the news came that there was a three-state manhunt underway, triggered by license plate readers (LPR) which had caught the same car in the vicinity of the MIT professor’s home and the Brown campus.

Then the next thing you know, there’s a massive police presence gathering at a storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire – which is where the vehicle tripped the LPR for the multi-state manhunt – and the rental vehicle in question has been abandoned in front of it.





Police showed no particular urgency after they originally got into the storage unit.

And then finally came the report that he was dead by his own hand.

Rumors are flying about the perp, and I’m seeing this from several reputable sources. Ho, boy, if it’s true.

The Providence mayor is now at the microphone and what a waste of breath he is.

Okay. Chief of Police, for whom English is a second language. He’s thanking everyone and telling the public nothing.

God DANG, dude.

‘The same individual who was the focus from the beginning!’ Oh, BS, dude. You guys pulled the wrong guy in and lost how many days.

Tell us who the guy was.

Okay, here we go – a Portuguese national whose name I cannot give you because of the chief’s frickin’ accent, and he didn’t bother to spell it. Claudio something

8:43 CST This press conference is a collective tonguebath of losers. Holy smokes. There’s nothing about the case, and no more on the perp. What on earth is going on?!

I’m sorry I’m still trying to get a spelling of his name and they just mentioned a satchel with two firearms there was never a mention prior. 

Eric’s got the name and the fact that the shooter was a student at Brown. NEVER has this been mentioned yet at the press conference in between all the wee are so awesome backslapping.





Thank God the FBI sounds like an adult.

But there are still zero basic facts.

And, yes – I’m sorry. I forgot to tell you I was live updating this. It’s just God dang astonishing.

This is where I was not an hour ago when they were still rooting through the storage unit, debating whether or not the guy was still there, and I’m still pretty much there. What BOZOS and I’ve heard nothing to change my mind.

I’m sorry, you all. This is the most worthless, uninformative, cover-your-ass press conference I have ever seen in my entire life. It’s a complete abortion.

And now the university, $3.1M girl?

I’m out of here.

Maybe tomorrow there will be some kind of information, but this is simply disgusting. Let me amend that – it’s revolting.

I’ve never seen a display like this in all my years. It’s like watching the Grammys.

Oh, had to share this. Of course, the weaponized autistics at Reddit were on it long before the Providence coppers.

That just cracks me up. Someone should pat those guys on the back and slobber over them.

Okay, I lied. Not gone yet. Fox has what’s known as ‘information’ on the diseased suspect, so I thought I’d share.

I do not get the secrecy that might ultimately have cost another man his life, or, God forbid, if this guy had not decided to kill himself, thensomeone who had the misfortune to come across him.
