RYAN GARCIA was left in tears after falling to a shock defeat against Rolando Romero last night.
King Ryan was dethroned for the second time in the ring after he suffered a surprise decision defeat to dash his hopes of a rematch against Devin Haney.
Garcia – competing for the first time since being hit with a one-year doping ban after testing positive for banned substance ostarine – was dropped in the second round and outboxed in much of the fight.
Judges gave a unanimous decision victory over 12 rounds to 29-year-old Rolly by scores of 118-109 and 115-112 twice.
The American gave full credit to his underdog rival as he was crowned the new WBA welterweight champion in Times Square in New York.
Garcia, 26 said of his rival: “He fought a good fight; caught me early. No excuses, man. Congrats to him – he did a great job.”
However, following the bout, Garcia – who had originally arrived in a striking “Batmobile “- was overcome with emotion and was filmed crying in the back of a van.
Garcia had spoken about how his year out of the ring had been “physically and mentally” draining.
Some fans were sympathetic to the emotion of Garcia, while others were not as considerate.
One fan said: “What yall expect him to be okay about losing?”

A second said: “Bro got humbled. About time.”
A third added: “Blew it.”
Another said: “Why everyone hating on him crying, so is it now illegal to cry after losing?”
Garcia’s would-be future opponent Haney, held up his end of the bargain with a unanimous win over Jose Carlos Ramirez.
Haney and Garcia’s original fight had been ruled as a no-contest after Garcia had missed his weight before his drug ban.
