PASSENGERS feared the worst as they were caught up in a cockpit emergency on a BA flight.
Pilots were forced to wear oxygen masks as fumes filled the area.

They declared an emergency on the Heathrow to Aberdeen flight — and returned to London.
A source said: “It was terrifying.
“Passengers were scared and feared the worst but the pilots were heroes.
“They had to wear oxygen masks because they were not clear what the odour was.

Footage showed emergency vehicles monitoring the aircraft and firefighters waiting to board.
BA said standard procedures were followed after what it called “a technical issue” on Saturday night.
The Airbus A319 later resumed its flight to Aberdeen.
