A POPULAR British rapper has just cancelled two legs of his world tour – and fans are fuming.
Described as a “leading voice in British hip-hop” the singer’s latest leg of his world tour, hopefully!, was set to kick off in February 2026.
But seemingly out of the blue, the US and Canada dates have been axed due to “conflicting commitments”.
This has massively angered fans who made travel arrangements and booked hotels.
It appears Loyle Carner, 31, nabbed another lucrative gig, recently announcing that he’s scored a role in a new crime drama coming to the BBC.
The upcoming flick titled Mint will see the Ottolenghi rapper star alongside The Brutalist’s Emma Laird, Blade Runner actor Lewis Gribben, and more.
Described as being a “story about soaring romance and crushing heartbreak, love, infatuation, darkness and tragedy,” by the popular TV channel, the show’s set to tug on viewer’s emotions.
An email was sent to Loyle’s fans that stated: “Due to TV filming commitments, the US and Canada leg of the hopefully ! tour will no longer be going ahead”.
Though many were happy for Loyle and are excited to see how he fares on TV, they felt incredibly disappointed and let down on their plans to attend.
Taking to Reddit to express their disappointment, one fan said: “Hey everyone.
“I bought tickets a while ago for Loyle Carner’s Toronto show scheduled for February 2026, but when I checked Ticketmaster, it shows that the event is cancelled and my tickets don’t show up.
“I haven’t seen any official cancellation announcement yet, so I’m wondering, has anyone else noticed their tickets gone?”
The comment started a chain of conversation, where other music-lovers shared how they “hoped it was a Ticketmaster glitch” and how much money they’re now “down” thanks to the late-notice cancellation.
“$800 down the drain. Reaaaaally sucks, and no message from Loyle about it either as far as I can tell,” a pained fan penned.
Responding to the above user, another fan added: “Man same, already booked air travel and everything.
“I’m out a lotta money bc I always promised myself that if he toured in the US, I would do whatever I could to show up.
“It woulda been nice to get some kinda personal communication from him.”
Loyle has been around on the music scene since 2017.
With the launch of his debut album, Yesterday’s Gone, he was already gaining acclaim.
It was nominated for the 2017 Mercury Prize.
He’s since been a regular presenter on BBC Radio 6 as one of their Music Artists in Residence.
Loyle started his acting career in 2008 and landed a brief role in the hit HBO series Succession in 2018.
