FAMILY of a missing British-based doctor last seen on the Costa del Sol have launched a desperate appeal for help finding him.

Ruaridh (“Rory”) Tanner, from Harrow, London, could be living off-grid from his car and sleeping on sun loungers around the Malaga area, according to his brother.

Rufus Tanner revealed in a social media plea that Ruaridh was last known to be in Nerja, east of Malaga, on October 25.

After that, the trail went cold.

Now, he is calling on expats in the Costa del Sol to keep a look out and pass on any information.

He wrote: “My brother is missing. We received information that he was in Nerja on October 25th.

“He may still be there but it is likely that he has moved on.

“His name is Ruaridh (pronounced Rory) and he has an English accent.

“He is approximately 1.85m tall, has a caduceus tattoo on the inside of his left arm and is probably using and possibly living in his silver VW Polo.”

Rufus added: “As his family we want to know that he is safe, tell him that we love him, and ask him to contact us.”

In a follow-up, it was suggested Ruaridh might be seen buying supplies like eggs and chicken, and working out in outdoor gyms or sleeping on sun-loungers.

People were urged not to contact him themselves, but rather to call Rufus immediately.

On a Costa del Sol expat Facebook group, Rufus added: “He is a qualified doctor.

“We are not sure why he disappeared but we just want to make contact.”

Well-wishers responded by saying they would share his appeal for help, although one suggested: “You should report it to the police. He may be willingly out of contact or he could be injured or in trouble.”

It was not immediately clear on Wednesday night whether police had been contacted.

Ruaridh’s brother has thanked people who have offered advice about speaking to cops and a well-known Spanish missing persons’ association.

Last month a British man who went missing on the Costa Blanca was found dead, nearly a month after he vanished.

Marc Tulloch Hewson, 63, originally from Wantage, Oxfordshire, had last been seen around September 20 in Torrevieja south of Alicante.

His family and friends launched desperate pleas for help on social media and Spanish police also appealed for information on his whereabouts before confirmation his body had been discovered on October 15.
