A BRIT backpacker who killed a dad-of-two in a horrifying drunken e-scooter crash in Australia has been jailed for four years.
Alicia Kemp, 25, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death after smashing into Thanh Phan, 51, and leaving him with fatal head injuries in May.
The psychology graduate from Redditch, Worcestershire, was more than three times the legal limit when she hopped on the bike after a reported six-hour marathon pub session.
She was driving a pal at speed down a footpath when she careened into Thanh from behind and knocked him down.
The tragic dad’s head struck the pavement before he passed away from a brain bleed two days later.
His death thrust e-scooter regulations into the spotlight in Australia, and prompted Perth, alongside several other local councils, to suspend the hiring services for good.
Kemp’s mate also suffered a broken nose and fractured skull – but her injuries were not life-threatening.
