BOXER Isis Sio has woken up from her coma after her brutal defeat to Jocelyn Camarillo.
The young brawler suffered serious injuries after being knocked out in the first round by Camarillo.
The pair faced off in the ring at the National Orange Show Event Center in San Bernadino, California.
Medical attention was quickly on hand for Sio, 19, after her KO and she was seen convulsing on a stretcher.
She was rushed to hospital for further tests and treatment which led to her being placed into coma.
Her family have now issued a promising update on her condition.
They have confirmed that the female junior flyweight has woken up from the coma and is off a ventilator.
A statement said: “At this time, Isis remains in ICU, but she is off the ventilator and we are hopeful for her progression.
“We are awaiting further updates from her medical team.
“She is currently under the care of three specialised medical divisions who are closely monitoring her condition.
“We sincerely appreciate the continued support, thoughts, and prayers during this time.”
Rival Camarillo, 21, has reacted to the news that Sio was awake on Instagram.
She wrote: “Thank you, Jesus.”
Fans have reacted to the news on social media and sent their continued support for the star.
