BOURNEMOUTH team-mates Tyler Adams and Adam Smith were involved in a sickening clash in the opening minutes of their match against Aston Villa.
Both players collapsed to the turf and required urgent medical attention as the game was halted.
The fans packed into Villa Park were pleased to see them get back to their feet several minutes later – although Smith’s face was covered in blood.
