Boulder terror attack latest: Suspect Mohamed Soliman’s shocking illegal migrant history revealed

A man yelling ‘free Palestine’ used incendiary devices to torch protesters rallying in support of Israeli hostages, injuring at least eight people in the US state of Colorado on Sunday.

Video of the alleged attack shows a shirtless man holding clear bottles in his hands is seen pacing as the grass in front of him burns.

He can be heard screaming ‘End Zionists!’ and ‘They are killers!’ towards several people in red T-shirts as they tend to a person lying on the ground.

Police in the city of Boulder said it was too early to determine a motive for the attack, which took place shortly before 1:30 pm local time at a demonstration honoring the October 7 victims who are still being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller sensationally revealed the suspect taken into custody in the Boulder attack was living in the United States on an outdated work permit issued from the Biden administration.

He said Soliman was initially granted a tourist visa, and when he was caught overstaying that visa, Biden issued him a new work permit, which has also since lapsed.

He described Soliman as an ‘illegal alien.’

‘Immigration security is national security,’ he said. ‘No more hostile migration. Keep them out and send them back.’

His revelation comes amid reporting that Soliman was an Egyptian national residing illegally in the United States after overstaying his visa.

Fox first reported that the terror suspect arrived in America via Los Angeles International Airport in August 2022, carrying a tourist visa.

He had authorization to remain in the United States until February 2, 2023, but that date came and went and Soliman remained in the country. He had filed a claim with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services on September 9, 2022.

The Biden administration granded Soliman work authorization on March 29, 2023, which lapsed in March 2025 – three months ago.

Congressman Brendan Gill expanded on Miller’s revelation, sharing to X: ‘Biden allowed Islamic terrorist Mohamad Soliman into the country under a B1/B2 visa program.

‘He overstayed his visa so Biden awarded him with a work permit. He then overstayed his work permit, before brutally attacking American Jews.’

The 45-year-old had been granted a visa and a work permit under the Biden administration – both of which he overstayed, federal officials confirmed Sunday night.

Police have said it was too early to determine a motive for the attack, but the suspect was allegedly heard yelling ‘free Palestine’ as he used a makeshift flamethrower to torch protesters rallying in support of Israeli hostages.

Shocking videos shared online showed Soliman appearing to taunt the victims while brandishing bottles of alcohol for the Molotov cocktails in each hand as smoke rose from the scene.

Officers within the FBI’s Denver unit also attended a home linked to Soliman on Sunday to conduct ‘court-authorized law enforcement activity’ as part of the investigation.

The unassuming El Paso County property was surrounded by officers as confused neighbors noted they didn’t know the residents of the address well.

Officials are working trying to determine if Boulder attack suspect Mohamed Soliman suffered from any mental health issues, law enforcement sources told CNN.

Investigators are trying to identify Soliman’s ‘online presence’ and are interviewing people who may have interacted with.

The source, who alleged that Soliman ‘may have suffered mental health issues’, noted that he allegedly used Molotov cocktails in the terror attack.

The devices are constructed from easily obtainable materials and ‘do not appear to fit the profile of a terrorist intent on causing large-scale causalities’, the insider added.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement Monday saying he, his wife and the entire nation of Israel were praying for the full recovery of the people wounded in the ‘vicious terror attack’ in Colorado.

‘This attack was aimed against peaceful people who wished to express their solidarity with the hostages held by Hamas, simply because they were Jews,’ Netanyahu said.

‘I trust the United States authorities to prosecute the cold-blooded perpetrator to the fullest extent of the law and do everything possible to prevent future attacks against innocent civilians.

‘The antisemitic attacks around the world are a direct result of blood libels against the Jewish state and people, and this must be stopped.’

Mohamed Soliman, the suspect in the atrocious firebomb terror attack at a pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder, is set to appear in court today at 1:30pm local time (3:30pm EST).

Court records show that Soliman, who was arrested shortly after the attack, faces eight felony charges including first-degree murder.

It is currently unclear if he could face any further charges in connection with the incident, which the FBI has called a ‘targeted terror attack’.

He currently remains in county jail and is being held on a $10 million bond.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis has condemned the ‘heinous’ and ‘targeted act’ of violence against Boulder’s Jewish community.

Polis says his administration is ‘working closely’ with local and federal law enforcement as they investigate the attack.

‘Hate is unacceptable in our Colorado for all, and I condemn this act of terror. The suspect should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,’ he said.

Brooke Coffman, a 19-year-old university student who witnessed the Boulder incident, said she saw four women lying or sitting on the ground with burns on their legs.

One of them appeared to have been badly burned on most of her body and had been wrapped in a flag by someone, she said.

She described seeing a man whom she presumed to be the attacker standing in the courtyard shirtless, holding a glass bottle of clear liquid and shouting.

Other eyewitnesses recalled seeing a ‘big flame as high as a tree’ and the suspect throw ‘a gas bomb in a glass jar’.

CNN is being slammed for downplaying the attack in Boulder, Colorado, which FBI Director Kash Patel and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino both called an act of terror.

But CNN National Security Analyst Juliette Kayyem pointed out that the Boulder police chief was not yet willing to call the attack an act of terrorism – as she called Patel ‘juvenile’ for assuming it was.

‘It makes law enforcement look disorganized and it makes the FBI look so juvenile, like why are you getting ahead of the police chief who says “I don’t know what this is,”‘ Kayyem argued. ‘And he has no incentive to get it wrong.’

After claiming CNN was ‘taking a step back’, Kayyem said that if Boulder police later determine it was terrorism ‘I will be the first one out here saying that this is a hate crime.

‘But until we do, we all need to – to not follow the FBI‘s tweets,’ she argued.

Her comments were quickly criticized online, with one person noting that the suspect was caught on video ‘ranting about Zionism as he sets Jews on fire.’

Boulder Police have not publicly identified the victims of the hate crime, but described them as four women and four men ranging in age from 52 to 88.

Longtime Boulder residents Rabbi Israel Wilhelm and filmmaker Lisa Effress said the oldest victim of Sunday’s attack lived through the horrors of the Holocaust.

‘As this is an ongoing investigation, no additional information is available at this time,’ the FBI said.

According to The New York Times, a woman was allowed to enter the home which had been identified as belonging to Soliman.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection to Sunday’s attack, booking records obtained by Daily Mail reveal.

Despite the charges, police have not yet confirmed if anyone has died as a result of the attack.

The latest information we have is that four women and four men aged between 52 and 88 were injured and taken to hospitals following the incident.

An update on their conditions has not been provided.

Soliman has also been charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree assault, one count of causing serious injury to an at-risk adult or someone over 70 and one count of using explosives or incendiary devices.
