B&M fans have also been raving about a classy £12 feature adding an elegant twist to their garden designs.

Garden features that add the most value to a house

A well-kept garden can add anywhere between 5-20% to the value of a property.

Sellhousefast.uk carried out a study and consulted 36 estate agents, garden designers and property professionals from across the UK.

And the experts revealed the garden feature which adds the most value to a property is a shed.

  1. Shed – 82%
  2. Patio or paving – 76%
  3. Secure fencing, walls or gates – 72%
  4. Outdoor lighting – 66%
  5. Sturdy decking – 62%
  6. Water features eg. fountain or pond – 58%
  7. Modern garden furniture – 54%
  8. Artificial lawn/grass – 40%

All you have to do is drill a few holes in the bottom of the pot and whack some bricks and cardboard in it to give the plants some air to breathe.

Then top with a healthy sprinkling of soil, transfer your plants from your crusty old baskets or pots into the new swanky stone grey pots, and they should shoot into full bloom.

Home hack influencer Stephanie Larbey enthusiastically demonstrated the process.

Proudly prancing around in her husband’s bright green Crocs, she said: “I’m actually going to use the azalea I’ve already got, it gets really beautiful white flowers in the summer.

“See what I mean about these baskets needing updating.”

Repeating the process, she rehoused a different spring flower: “This lavender wasn’t doing well in its pot, so I actually bought some top-up lavender from B&M to help it on its way.

“And then it’s onto pot number three for this one. I bought  viburnum from B&M, and for this one (the smallest pot), I just filled it with some soil and stones.”
