Typically, when housemates move in to the Big Brother house they know what they’re signing up for, with cameras recording their every move to be broadcast for viewers watching at home.
But it seems that the housemates who took part in this year’s show may have tried to keep some wild stories for themselves, as one has revealed they used a secret code to try and prevent things from being aired.
Zelah Glasson, who was evicted five weeks into this year’s series, has revealed that he and the other housemates would use the phrase ‘Davina McCall‘ to disrupt discussions on contentious topics to stop them from being broadcast.
The personal trainer added that he and the other housemates were ‘told off’ for it on several occasions, and in some cases bosses would still air the chats, but with the use of Davina’s name edited out.
Davina is of course well-known to Big Brother fans, as she hosted the show during its Channel 4 tenure, from 2000 to 2010.
Speaking in the Truth or Dare series from content creators Lyndsey and Louise Scott, Zelah said: ‘We used to say Davina McCall when we wanted them to not air the things we were saying.
One this year’s Big Brother stars has revealed that housemates would use a secret code to try and prevent certain conversations from being aired
Typically when contestants move into the famous house, they’re signing up to being filmed 24 hours a day, but it seemed some tried methods to get around the editing room
‘We weren’t supposed to do it, we got told off for it. If we were talking about, I don’t know, someone talking about substance abuse, or someone talking about a secret about their family, we’d be like ”Davina McCall, Davina McCall”.
‘They’d never let it be aired because she’s [from] Channel 4.
‘I have had conversations that I’ve Davina McCalled, and they’ve been aired, they obviously just edited it out.’
Zelah was evicted on day 34 of this year’s Big Brother alongside Farida Khalifa in a double vote-off.
The content creator, who is transgender, spoke openly about his transition during his time in the house, but ended up facing eviction thanks to a Save and Replace twist from housemate Caroline Monk.
Caroline and Zelah came to blows earlier in the series after she was issued with a formal warning for offensive language after making transphobic comments to him.
This year’s Big Brother came to an end on Friday when author and composer Richard Storry was crowned the oldest winner in the show’s history.
Richard, 60, who admitted he almost didn’t apply for Big Brother, was left visibly stunned by the news.

Elsa finished in second place and left the Big Brother house to a roaring applause from the audience.
During the final viewers watched as Tate finished in sixth place before AJ and Will announced Emily placed fifth.
It was then announced farmer Cameron had finished in fourth place before Jenny finished in third.
Tonight’s show also saw ITV officially confirm Big Brother will return for another series in 2026.
Applications have now opened, with potential housemates being asked to commit up to eight weeks for the programme next autumn.
Composer and author Richard, from London, might have been a late addition to the household, but he has won over the public with his reaction to evicted housemate Caroline’s behaviour towards him.
Some of the insults levelled at Richard included Caroline’s claim that he was ‘boring’ and she went as far as to compare him to Mr Bean in her exit interview where she declared: ‘Richard is not funny.’

It was previously revealed how controversial housemate George was disinvited from the live finale after being removed from the house.
George since broke his silence and accused the channel of ‘leaving his life in tatters’ following his removal.
Celebrity Big Brother is expected to return in Spring when the iconic house reopens for a new batch of famous faces.
