The game of the weekend sees in-form Aston Villa travel to Stamford Bridge for their Premier League clash with Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.
Put simply, the Villans could hardly be in better form.
Unai Emery’s side are now considered genuine title contenders, having won each of their last 10 matches to climb to third in the table, just three points behind leaders Arsenal after 17 games.
Villa weren’t at their fluent best in their most recent outing against Manchester United, but still claimed maximum points thanks to Morgan Rogers.
They’ll need to improve to beat Chelsea this weekend, but four straight away wins and a 2-1 victory when the sides last met in February show they’re more than capable.
As for Chelsea, they were blown away in the opening 45 minutes against Newcastle last time out, yet still left St James’ Park with a point.
That result extended their unbeaten run to three matches, winning two of those – though one came against League One opposition Cardiff in the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea can, however, take encouragement from their home form, having won six of their last eight at Stamford Bridge, with their only defeat coming against promoted Sunderland.
