West Ham vs Leeds preview
West Ham and Leeds United put their respective fights for survival on pause when they meet in the FA Cup quarter-finals at the London Stadium this afternoon.
It could be viewed as either an inconvenience or a welcome distraction from their relegation battle – though that will likely depend on who progresses.
It is a sell-out, and little wonder, with West Ham featuring in their first FA Cup quarter-final since the 2015-16 season.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are looking to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2005-06, when they finished runners-up.
They have beaten QPR, Burton and Brentford to reach this stage, although they have lost five of their last six FA Cup quarter-final matches.
But they could do with a morale boost heading into the final eight games of the season, sitting 18th in the table and just a single point from safety. They will also be keen to respond after a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa last time out, which ended their three-game unbeaten run.
The good news is that West Ham have won their last two FA Cup meetings with Leeds, although they did lose 2-1 earlier this season – with the return fixture on the final day potentially set to decide who stays up and who goes down – a dress rehearsal for what could be a season-defining showdown.
As for Leeds, they are grinding their way towards safety following goalless draws with Crystal Palace and Brentford, leaving them four points clear of the drop zone.
They have beaten Walsall, Birmingham and Norwich to reach their first FA Cup quarter-final since 2002-03, and victory here would see them reach the semi-finals for the first time since 1986-87.
Leeds, however, have failed to win any of their last three FA Cup quarter-final matches, since last doing so in 1986-87.

West Ham vs Leeds tips and betting predictions
Tip 1: Draw
We are backing a draw between these sides after 90 minutes at 13/5 with Betfair – the result neither side wants…
Neither team will be keen to give an inch, especially if this is a dress rehearsal for that potentially decisive showdown on the final day of the season. The Hammers have drawn each of their last four at home after 90 minutes, while the visitors have drawn each of their last five away inside 90 minutes.
Bet: Draw at 13/5 with Betfair
First goalscorer and correct score prediction
Tip 2: Callum Wilson to score
Callum Wilson is edging closer to his first goal since January, and we think it arrives today at 13/8 with bet365.
The 34-year-old has fired off seven shots across his last four matches, a tally bettered only by Crysencio Summerville (10), who has played more than double his minutes. He has also posted nearly double the xG of any of his West Ham team-mates (2.03) and has scored twice in his last two appearances against Leeds United.
Bet: Callum Wilson to score at 13/8 with bet365
