Her devastated daughter confirmed the news days later, revealing her mum’s death was “sudden” after “failing to respond to medical treatment”.

The Chinese social media star had built a loyal following of more than 100,000 fans on Douyin, the original version of TikTok, where she shared her life, and later her cancer battle.

Zhu was diagnosed around a year and a half before her death with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer.

Doctors reportedly gave her just one to two years to live, but she refused to give in.

In a heartbreaking tribute, her daughter said: “For the past year and a half, she had been repeatedly tormented by illness, enduring unimaginable physical pain yet she remained optimistic and strong.”

Even in her final days, Zhu was thinking of others.

“A few days before she passed away, already blind and slurring her speech, she still held my hand and comforted me, ‘Don’t cry, baby. This is a tough time, but Mommy will be better in a few days.’ ”

The influencer, who also ran a cosmetics brand and previously worked as a model, documented her fight online and was determined to warn others.

Her daughter described her as a “warrior” and a “hero” who pushed through relentless treatment.

“She spent her whole life worrying about others, caring for everyone around her, but neglecting herself,” she said.

“My mother was strong-willed her whole life and never bowed to illness.

“During chemotherapy and radiotherapy, she underwent frequent blood draws until her veins were almost impossible to puncture, but she gritted her teeth and persevere, never considering giving up.”

Zhu’s biggest regret, her daughter revealed, was not looking after her own health while chasing success.

She had previously warned followers about dangerous habits, including greasy takeaway food, lack of sleep and chronic anxiety.

The influencer believed years of staying up until 1am or 2am weakened her immune system, while ongoing stress – including financial pressures linked to her husband’s business – took a heavy toll.

Despite everything, she held on for her children.

“As long as I have a breath left, we three children will still have our mother,” she once said.

Zhu, from Harbin in China, leaves behind her husband and three children.

It comes after a dwarf influencer died just days after his 33rd birthday.

Alejo Little, real name David Alejandro Peláez Marín, lived with skeletal dysplasia, a genetic condition affecting bone growth and development.

His death was confirmed by a friend on March 13.

The social media star, who stood at just under three feet (90cm), had nearly 4million TikTok followers and a further 300,000 on Instagram.

The influencer made his final Instagram post on February 10, marking his 33rd birthday and writing that he was asking “to be myself again.”

Alejo passed away days later and has since been laid to rest in Medellín, Colombia, where he spent most of his life and career.
