Beau Greaves reveals whether she’d accept Premier League Darts invite and responds to Van Gerwen snub

BEAU GREAVES said she would happily accept a Premier League spot if offered one by the PDC in the New Year.

Raymond van Barneveld, the five-time world darts champion, told SunSport this week that he is “proud” of the young Yorkshirewoman, who has earned a two-year Tour Card for the 2026-27 seasons.

Holland’s oche legend, 58, claimed he would not be surprised if she was chosen by the governing body to appear in their eight-player 17-week £1million Road Show.

It would all depend on how the three-time women’s world champion does at the PDC World Darts Championship at Ally Pally, which starts on December 11.

If she has a barnstorming run and really caught everyone’s imagination, it might be hard to ignore the chorus of people calling for her to be part of the invitational tournament.

Told about Barney’s interview, Greaves, 21, said: “It’s just nice – they don’t have to say that sort of stuff. It’s sweet for me.

“I watched all these players growing up.

“I can’t imagine I would get in the Premier League unless I had a crazy run but I wouldn’t say no!

“But maybe it’s a bit much for me. It would make it exciting, wouldn’t it?

“People go on about the Premier League being flat and boring, I always end up watching it every week.

“It would be amazing to play in it. I don’t think I deserve it. It’s nice that people say good things about me.”

Having thanked one Dutchman for their “sweet” words about her career, she will now try to ram the words of another one down their throat.

Greaves will next be on TV on Saturday night when she faces Michael van Gerwen, the three-time world champion, in their opening group match of the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.

In October 2017, MVG gave a flat “no” when asked on social media by a follower if he thought a woman would ever be able to “compete with the top men players”.

Diplomatically, the Doncaster thrower replied: “To be honest I don’t read much. I said that a few years ago as well. We’ve both said the same thing!
