Beau Greaves CONFIRMED for World Darts Championship after being banned for last two years

BEAU GREAVES has been CONFIRMED for the World Darts Championship after previously being banned.

The Doncaster thrower has been unable to compete in the tournament for the previous two years due to her commitments to the WDF Women’s Championship.

Greaves, 21, had been victorious in the event in each of the last three editions.

But her return to the World Darts Championship will mean she will be unable to defend her title.

She last played in the tournament in 2023 but was beaten 3-0 by Irish ace William O’Connor in the first round.

Greaves’ spot was confirmed by her representatives, Opus Sports Management.

A statement read: “After securing her tour card for 2026/2027, and after much speculation, we are excited to officially announce that Beau will be competing in the PDC World Championship 2025/26.

“After an incredible year on the various PDC circuits, and with next year becoming a huge one ahead, it was the decision that made the most sense for Beau and one that is fully supported by all of us at Opus.

“We cannot wait to see her back on the famous Ally Pally stage.”

Greaves had previously hit out at the rules that barred her from competing in both competitions.

The PDC rules prohibit players from appearing in both.

She said in November 2024: “I think it’s a stupid decision by the PDC.

“The ladies’ game is massive to me. I wanted to be a women’s world champion and I got that at Lakeside, so I can’t not go back.

“I don’t know why people would think I wouldn’t do that.

“The game is not just made up of me, Fallon [Sherrock], Lisa [Ashton] and whoever.

“There is a whole bunch of us that need to get better. Hopefully other ladies can get involved and back each other don’t really want me to do that well. I just want the ladies’ game to get bigger and bigger.

“I am more for that sort of stuff. They deserve it. As nice as the men are to watch on telly, there is room for the ladies.

“There are 100, 200 players who want to play but don’t think they are good enough for the men’s game.

“I want to make sure I am flying the flag for them who don’t get mentioned.

“It’s a shame they make you choose [Ally Pally or Lakeside]. I don’t understand that, I think it’s stupid.

“I’d love to do both. I wouldn’t win Ally Pally but I’d give it a good crack and see if I played well – but ultimately I want to be a ladies’ world champion.”

Her entrance into the tournament will raise the eyebrows of the reigning champion Luke Littler.

The Nuke was beaten by Greaves in the World Youth Championship semi-finals earlier this week.

She won the untelevised tie 6-5 after coming from 4-2 down and then 5-4 behind.

Greaves has also taken up a Tour Card from the PDC for the next two years.

The last woman to be awarded one and feature on the PDC ranks was Lisa Ashton, but she struggled to impress.

Littler cheekily told her to reject the card after he was beaten – advice she has chosen to avoid.

He also defended Greaves from a horrible sexist troll on social media.
