GABBY LOGAN was forced to leave Match of the Day midway through the show due to a “family emergency” as Mark Chapman took over presenting duties.
The incident occurred on Wednesday as Gabby, 52, presented highlights of the latest Premier League action.
But 20 minutes into the broadcast, mum-of-two Gabby was forced to exit the BBC studio.
And it saw Match of the Day draft in fellow host Chappers.
He had been presenting a radio show at the time.
But Chapman, also 52, charged his way to the Match of the Day studio before taking over for the rest of the show.
The host showed his professionalism as he greeted shocked viewers.
He said: “Sadly Gabby has got a family emergency that she had to rush off and deal with.
“She’s gone to do that and I’ve come from the radio to finish the show.”
Gabby married former Scotland rugby star Kenny Logan in 2001 and they are parents to twins Reuben and Lois, who were born in 2005.
Kenny was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022 and went public with the news alongside his wife on BBC Breakfast, shortly after getting the all-clear that August.
Gabby is one of three presenters who replaced Gary Lineker after 26 years on the flagship BBC show.

Chapman and Kelly Cates share duties with her.
Fans were quick to wish Gabby well with her family emergency.
And they hailed Chapman for showing his class with the late switch.
One said: “Thoughts with Gabby Logan with whatever’s happened there.
“Mark Chapman out of breath running over from the radio to take over is crazy.
“Peak professionalism.”
Another declared: “Hope Gabby Logan’s family emergency isn’t too serious.”
