Barron Trump repeatedly rang and FaceTimed a London woman throughout the day and night, her jealous ex-boyfriend has claimed in court.
Matvei Rumiantsev, 22, is on trial in the UK for allegedly raping and beating the woman, who is friends with the president’s youngest son.
She previously told Snaresbrook Crown Court that Barron saved her life by contacting the emergency services after he allegedly witnessed her being attacked over FaceTime.
Rumiantsev denies raping or strangling the woman.
But he admitted it was ‘hard not to be jealous’ and the ongoing communication between them in late 2024 and early 2025 became a source of tension in their relationship.
Rumiantsev told the court he had been unfairly portrayed as losing his temper over their friendship.
‘She was frankly leading him on,’ the former wrestler claimed. ‘I’m being portrayed as a highly jealous person who loses his temper. I can’t say I wasn’t jealous. I considered her actions towards him wrong. It wasn’t fair either to him or to me.’
Rumiantsev said he was used to his ex receiving regular calls from the ‘quite persistent’ American by the night of the alleged attack on January 18, 2025.
Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump, repeatedly rang and FaceTimed a London woman throughout the day and night, her jealous ex-boyfriend has claimed in court
Russian national Matvei Rumiantsev is accused of repeatedly punching Barron’s female friend in a flat in London while President Trump’s son was on a FaceTime call to her from the US
‘Throughout the day, she had missed calls from him [Barron],’ he told the court.
‘The US is in a different time zone, so he was calling her in the morning, and then he apparently slept, and then he was calling in the evening.’
The court heard Rumiantsev became upset after discovering the woman had referred to Barron as ‘sweetheart’ in messages, telling jurors the nickname made him feel ‘unwell’.
He allegedly he ‘flew into a rage’ after spotting Barron FaceTiming the woman in the early hours of January 18, before answering the call and attacking her as Barron watched in horror from across the Atlantic, jurors heard.
Barron called the UK’s emergency line 999 from America and spoke to the police, urging them to help his female friend.
The victim claimed he saved her life, and that his FaceTime call to her that night was a ‘sign from God’.
Rumiantsev is charged with raping the woman on two occasions, assault, actual bodily harm and obstruction of justice.
Police rushed to his home in Poplar, east London, in the early hours after Barron called 999 at 2.23am.

‘I’m calling from the US, uh I just got a call from a girl, you know, she’s getting beat up,’ Barron told the operator, the court heard.
‘This was happening about eight minutes ago. I just figured out how to, how to call someone. Uh, uh it’s really an emergency.’
The President’s son had allegedly watched on FaceTime as Rumiantsev grabbed the woman by the hair and pushed her to the floor, shouting ‘you are not worth anything’.
Rumiantsev called the woman a ‘slut’ and a ‘whore’ and kicked her in the stomach when she was on the floor, jurors heard.
The woman told officers she had been slapped, punched, kicked and strangled during the assault.
She told cops that the Russian would deliberately get her drunk and have sex with her without consent.
She said she had asked him why he did this to her and he responded: ‘You never want to do this with me so I make you drink and do this to you.’
Fascination surrounds Barron’s role in saving the woman as he remains remarkably private despite being the son of the most famous man in the world.
The six-foot-seven college student is Trump’s fifth child, and the President’s only child with his third wife, Melania.
The young Trump told investigators that he met the girl ‘on social media.’
Barron broke up with an unidentified girlfriend in November, according to reports, and is currently single.
His peers at New York University’s Stern School of Business have previously told news outlets that he is a ‘ladies man.’
Melania has keenly guarded Barron’s privacy ever since Trump’s first term and sources close to the family often deny or downplay reports about his life.
The vacuum of information has led to vicious gossip linking him to toxic influencers from the far-right ‘incel’ community.
The New York Times last month reported that Andrew Tate fostered a relationship Barron to bolster his efforts to flee a sex trafficking investigation in Romania.
Barron and Tate spoke over a Zoom call in 2024, according to mutual friend Justin Waller, who says he was also dialed in.
Tate, who now lives in Florida, reportedly told Barron that the criminal charges were an attempt to silence him.
