BARCELONA have issued a fresh update on Marcus Rashford’s future.
The Manchester United attacker is on loan at the Nou Camp this season with a permanent £26mililon option in the deal to make it for keeps.
However, president Joan Laporta has cast a permanent switch into doubt as he spoke out on a potential second loan agreement.
The England cap, who has featured regularly under Hansi Flick, has already previously stated his desire to stay in Spain beyond the summer.
Laporta explained to Spanish outlet Jijantes: “We could extend (Rashford’s) loan further.
“It depends on what Deco (Barcelona’s sporting director) wants.
“There are formulas, such as paying part of the buy option to Manchester United and figuring out the rest later.”
He added that the 28-year-old has “good numbers in goals and statistics, great chemistry in the changing room, and he is very involved with the Foundation”.
Speaking last year about his own situation, Rashford was asked if he wanted to stay with the La Liga giants and was very clear.
He stated: “Oh yeah, for sure.

“I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game.
“For a player it’s an honour.”
Rashford has contributed 10 goals and 13 assists across all competitions so far this season.
Half of those goals have come in the Champions League as the Spanish giants get ready to tackle Newcastle in the second-leg of their last 16 clash.
