Bafta 2026 nominations revealed as DiCaprio film gets 14 nods & Sinners 13

ONE Battle After Another leads the nominations for this year’s Bafta Film Awards, surpassing Oscars record-holder Sinners.

The dark action-comedy is nominated in 14 categories for next month’s ceremony, including Best Film, Best Leading Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio and Best Leading Actress for Chase Infiniti.

The 25-year-old US star will face off against Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley, Bugonia’s Emma Stone and Song Sung Blue’s Kate Hudson, among others, in a hotly contested category.

Hollywood veteran Leo, 51, now shares an all-time Bafta record with the likes of movie legends Michael Caine, Daniel Day-Lewis and Laurence Olivier for seven Best Actor nominations.

However he has won the award just the once, for The Revenant in 2016.

Teyana Taylor, 35, who wore a sheer outfit and crown at Paris Fashion Week on Monday, is also in the running for Best Supporting Actress for One Battle After Another.

Co-stars Benicio del Toro, 58, and Sean Penn, 65, are both nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

The movie, released last September, took a modest £11.5million at the UK box office.

But it landed one more nod than the 13 secured by vampire thriller Sinners, with leading man Michael B Jordan, 38, up for Best Actor and British-Nigerian Wunmi Mosaku, 39, also in the mix for Best Supporting Actress.

It comes after Sinners picked up a record 16 Oscars nominations.

Ping-pong biopic Marty Supreme followed with 11 Bafta nominations, including Best Actor for Timothee Chalamet, 30.

The Shakespearean drama Hamnet matched that total, including a nod for Irish screen star Paul Mescal, 29, after he missed out on recognition in the recent list of Academy Awards nominees.

There was also a surprise five nominations for Scottish comedy I Swear, about a man struggling with severe Tourette’s.

Wicked: For Good was nominated for Best Costume Design and Best Make-Up – two more nods than it got for the Oscars.

Its leading stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were again snubbed.

Other names to miss out include Die My Love’s Jennifer Lawrence, Christy’s Sydney Sweeney and Jay Kelly’s George Clooney

The 79th annual ceremony will take place on February 22 at London’s Royal Festival Hall, hosted by Scots star Alan Cumming.
