BAD Bunny has made an unexpected Grammys performance after being ambushed by host Trevor Noah, one week before his highly anticipated Super Bowl Halftime show.
The Puerto Rican singer didn’t intend to perform during the 68th annual ceremony on Sunday night.
However, Trevor didn’t take no for an answer and kept pushing him to get up on stage.
“By the way, that was beautiful, first and foremost…” Trevor said to Bad Bunny, while seated beside him in the audience, in reference to him slamming ICE in his acceptance speech earlier in the night.
“It was really impactful. The only thing I felt that was missing was man, if this guy could perform some of that. I know you can’t contractually, I know you can’t,”
Bad Bunny – birth name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – who is contractually banned from performing ahead of the Super Bowl, played along with the bit.
“I’m okay, I’m having fun, I’m having a great night,” Bad Bunny assured.
The Latin rapper then tried to turn the conversation around by asking Trevor how it feels hosting his final Grammys after six consecutive years.
“It’s bittersweet; it’s been a wonderful ride. When you’re moving on, you start to reminisce,” the host admitted.
“Man, I should have taken more photos…I should have given more hugs and more kisses,” Trevor said, referencing Bad Bunny’s new album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which means in Spanish, I should have taken more photos.”
“Wait, is that my song in English?” Bad Bunny pointed out.
Trevor continued belting out the lyrics, hoping the rapper would join in, which he eventually did, and ensured he continued by bringing out a live band.
Bad Bunny won his fourth Grammy Award, taking home Best Música Urbana Album at the show.
It comes just one week before he’s set to perform at the Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Many conservative politicians took issue with the Spanish-speaking singer being selected as the halftime performer, arguing he couldn’t reach the broader American public.
Bad Bunny addressed the backlash during his October Saturday Night Live monologue, telling critics after speaking in Spanish, “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”

An insider exclusively told The U.S. Sun that the singer planned to keep the details of his Super Bowl performance “secret” and that he has “barely taken time off” over the last month to prepare.
“He’s working harder than ever to make sure it’s going to be historic.”
Bad Bunny was announced as the halftime performer for the February 8th game in late September.
Rumors previously circulated that Taylor Swift could take on the gig, as she’s drawn more attention to the NFL because of her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Taylor later clarified that she never received a formal offer, and she would’ve turned it down if she had.
