DOZENS of Asda customers have been hit by an app glitch that has seen their Christmas vouchers disappear.
The Christmas Saver Cashpot allows customers to save the rewards they have earned throughout the year to spend over Christmas.

All rewards they earn are saved into a Cashpot, which can be converted into a Christmas Saver Cashpot to use during the festive season.
They can pay into it as many times as they like, up to a maximum of £300.
Meanwhile, when they transfer money into the Christmas Saver Cashpot they also get a one-off cash bonus, depending on how much they transfer.
But savers have reported that their vouchers have expired – weeks before the big day.
Asda shoppers have taken to social media to voice their disappointment. One saver said: “£6.00 has just disappeared off mine I did have £12.00.”
Another added: “Mines the same and have taken £35 saying it’s expired.”
Meanwhile a third, writing on X, said: “why have you taken £8 from my Xmas saver pot. I thought the whole point of the Xmas pot was that it wouldn’t expire until AFTER the Xmas period!”
A message in the Asda app said: “We are aware of an issue with cashpot expiring from some Christmas Savers.
“There is no need to contact us, we are working on a fix.
“Apologies for any inconvenience.”
Asda was approached for comment.
Have Asda rewards gone down before?
Asda shoppers faced product disruptions and issues with their online delivery in August after the supermarket grappled with the fallout of its £1billion IT overhaul.
The upgrade was one of the largest IT projects of its kind in Europe and was designed to separate Asda’s systems from its former owner, Walmart.
But Asda boss Allan Leighton admitted the overhaul had caused temporary disruption to product availability in stores and online.
How to save at Asda
Shop the budget range
Savvy shopper Eilish Stout-Cairns recommends that shoppers grab items from Asda’s Just Essentials range.
She said: “Asda’s budget range is easy to spot as it’s bright yellow! Keep your eyes peeled for yellow and you’ll find their Just Essentials range.
“It’s great value and I’ve found it has a much wider selection of budget items compared to other supermarkets.
Sign up to Asda Rewards
The savvy-saver also presses on the importance of signing up to Asda’s reward scheme.
She said: “Asda Rewards is free to join and if you shop at Asda you should absolutely sign up.
“As an Asda Rewards member, you’ll get exclusive discounts and offers, and you’ll also be able to earn 10% cashback on Star Products.
“This will go straight into your cashpot, and once you’ve earned at least £1, you can transfer the money in your cashpot into ASDA vouchers.
We’ve previously rounded up the best supermarket loyalty schemes – including the ones that will save you the most money.
Look out for booze deals
Eilish always suggests that shoppers looking to buy booze look out for bargain deals.
She said: “Asda often has an alcohol offer on: buy six bottles and save 25%.
“The offer includes selected bottles with red, white and rose options, as well as prosecco. There are usually lots of popular bottles included, for example, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot and Freixenet Prosecco D.O.C.
“Obviously, the more expensive the bottles you choose, the more you save.”
Join Facebook groups
The savvy saver also recommends that fans of Asda join Facebook groups to keep in the know about the latest bargains in-store.
Eilish said: “I recommend joining the Latest Deals Facebook Group to find out about the latest deals and new launches in store.
“Every day, more than 250,000 deal hunters share their latest bargain finds and new releases.
“For example, recently a member shared a picture of Asda’s new Barbie range spotted in store.
“Another member shared the bargain outdoor plants she picked up, including roses for 47p, blackcurrant bushes for 14p and topiary trees for 14p.”
He said the problems were likely to continue for weeks.
Meanwhile, last year the Asda website went down and would not let customers log in.
More than 500 people reported issues, according to Downdetector.
Plus, it’s not the first time that Asda shoppers have reported that their cash is missing.
Asda shoppers were warned to check their balances in 2022 after some customers signed up to the Asda Rewards loyalty scheme complained their rewards had disappeared.
Others said their rewards had been used.
