Asda launches new service in ALL stores in UK supermarket first

ASDA is launching a new service to be rolled out at all its UK stores by early next year.

Asda and Evri have forged a new partnership that will mean customers can collect and return parcels from its more than one thousand retailers.

Parcelshops will be rolled out in every Asda store to provide greater convenience for shoppers ahead of the festive season.

Over 300 Asda locations have launched the service, including Express convenience sites, some supermarkets and superstores.

By April next year, the Parcelshops will be at all 1,200 Asda stores across the country.

Shoppers can pick up their groceries and collect parcels all in one trip with the new service.

It comes as out-of-home delivery networks have grown in popularity, with over 97 per cent of urban consumers already within one mile of an Evri pick-up or drop-off point.

Announcement if the new Asda service follows £50 million in investment from Evri that was revealed in July this year.

The courier company hopes to double its network of Parcelshops and Lockers through this investment, to have 25,000 locations by 2030.

Evri Chief Executive, Martijn de Lange, said: “This landmark agreement with fellow Leeds-based Asda strengthens our commitment to creating a delivery network fit for the modern UK shopper, directly giving them choice, convenience, and control.

“We are excited about the opportunities this new partnership will bring, helping us to further drive our ambition to expand our capabilities and deliver an even more comprehensive, cost-effective, and customer-focused service across the UK and beyond.”

Vice President of Logistics at Asda, Chris Hall, added: “One of the things that sets Asda apart is our unmatchable mix of services, so we’re delighted to be partnering with Evri to be able to launch a brand-new one just in time for the festive season.

“We know how much our customers value convenience, and this service gives them the flexibility to collect or return an Evri parcel whether they’re popping in for a pint of milk in one of our Express stores or doing their big shop in one of our larger stores.”

Evri’s roots can be traced back to Yorkshire from 1974, and it has now grown to a network of more than 10,000 Parcelshops, Lockers and depots.

Following a merger with DHL eCommerce UK, the Evri Group has been expanding its international capability to move into world trade.

In 2026, it plans to be rebranded as Evri Premium – a network of DHL, UK Mail and Coll-8 to become a premier parcel delivery company for the country.

This hopes to enable more than 1 billion parcel and letter deliveries each year.

Addition of Evri Parcelshops to Asda mark another expansion in services that the retailer offers.
